NABBIT
Nabbit (known as Totten in Japan) is a mysterious purple rabbit-like thief in the Super Mario franchise, recognizable by his large loot sack and white face bandana adorned with a sharp-toothed mouth drawing. Originally introduced as an antagonist who plundered Toad Houses, Nabbit evolved into a popular beginner-friendly playable character across platformers, sports games, and racing spin-offs.
Cronologia
Biografia
Nabbit is a nimble, purple rabbit-like thief who frequently steals items from Toad Houses and escapes across various worlds with his stolen loot stuffed inside a large canvas bag.
Visually, he is characterized by his round black eyes, long ears, black limbs, white gloves, orange boots, and a white bandana featuring a jagged-toothed mouth design similar to Bowser Jr.'s mask.
Despite his role as a thief targeted by Mario and Luigi, Nabbit frequently collaborates with the heroes. Whether adventuring alongside Luigi or racing in athletic competitions, he maintains his opportunistic nature, often snatching items from treasure chests when players take too long or watching from the sidelines after major boss battles.
Storia
Nabbit made his debut appearance in 2012's New Super Mario Bros. U on the Wii U.
His origins established him as an uninvited intruder in the Mushroom Kingdom who began burglarizing Toad Houses after the events of Stone-Eye Zone.
The Toads enlisted Mario and his friends to chase Nabbit across seven different worlds to reclaim stolen P-Acorns, establishing his signature gameplay loop of fleeing carrying his heavy bag.

Evoluzione
Nabbit's progression in the Super Mario series marks a transition from a side enemy to a staple playable character. Initially introduced in 2012 as a fast-moving world map nuisance who challenged players' speed, his popular design led Nintendo to make him playable in 2013's New Super Luigi U.
Over the years, Nabbit became Nintendo's signature 'easy mode' character designed for beginners, granting total immunity to standard enemy collision damage. His moveset expanded in New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe and Super Mario Bros. Wonder, allowing him to carry items, interact with Yoshis, and convert standard power-ups into alternate resources like 1-Ups or Flower Coins. Outside platformers, Nabbit has established a permanent presence across sports, racing, and mobile Mario titles.
Da Collezione
Nabbit has emerged as a distinct favorite among Nintendo merchandise collectors. A notable physical release is his official figure in the Lego Super Mario line (Series 5 / Toad's Shop), complete with an interactive action tag that triggers custom responses when scanned by Lego Mario.
Beyond building sets, Nabbit is featured in licensed plush lines, official Nintendo mini-figures, and digital cosmetic unlocks such as Mii costumes in Mario Golf: World Tour. Collectors prize items that highlight his signature purple ears, stolen loot bag, and sharp-toothed mouth bandana.
In Mario Golf: World Tour, Nabbit hides inside his loot bag after a Bogey and gets eaten by a Piranha Plant if he scores any lower.
