MULTIPLE MAN
James 'Jamie' Madrox, known as Multiple Man, is a Marvel Comics mutant created by Len Wein, Chris Claremont, and John Buscema who debuted in Giant-Size Fantastic Four #4 (1975). Possessing the ability to instantly clone himself upon kinetic impact, Jamie has served as a superhero, government agent, and private investigator leading X-Factor Investigations. By reabsorbing his duplicates, he gains their accumulated skills, memories, and experiences, making him one of Marvel's most versatile operatives.
Cronologia
Biografia

James Arthur 'Jamie' Madrox manifested his duplication powers at birth when the doctor's slap caused him to instantly create his first duplicate. To protect him, his family moved to an isolated farm in Lawrenceville, Kansas, where his father designed a suit to suppress his kinetic abilities.
After losing his parents as a teenager and spending years in isolation, a suit malfunction drove him to New York City, bringing him into conflict with the Fantastic Four before Professor Charles Xavier stepped in to assist him. Jamie spent considerable time working as a laboratory assistant for Dr. Moira MacTaggert on Muir Island.
He later joined the government-sponsored X-Factor team, forming a signature comedic duo with teammate Strong Guy. Over the years, Jamie dispatched numerous duplicates ('dupes') around the world to live independent lives and acquire varied knowledge, which he later reabsorbed. Following M-Day, Madrox used funds from a game show win to establish X-Factor Investigations, a detective agency based in New York City's Mutant Town. His life has been marked by complex time-travel missions, personal tragedies—including the loss of Mutant Town and premature deaths of dupes—and high-stakes battles alongside mutantkind.
Storia

Jamie Madrox was born in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Two weeks after his birth duplication incident, his father Daniel resigned from the Los Alamos National Laboratory on Professor Xavier's advice to raise Jamie on an isolated Kansas farm.
Shortly after, Damian Tryp of Singularity Investigations approached the family claiming Jamie was a 'changeling'—a precursor to mutants—and offered to take him. When his parents refused, Daniel engineered a kinetic energy-absorbing suit to prevent Jamie from accidentally creating dupes.
When Jamie was fifteen, a freak tornado created by Damian Tryp killed his parents, leaving Jamie alone to manage the farm for six years. At age twenty-one, the control mechanisms of the suit failed, causing it to absorb ambient electrical energy. Confused and temporarily driven mad, Jamie traveled to New York City, where physical impacts caused him to duplicate uncontrollably until Professor Xavier and Reed Richards repaired his suit and helped him manage his powers.
I PEZZI DI MULTIPLE MAN
Evoluzione
Multiple Man evolved significantly from his initial 1975 debut in Giant-Size Fantastic Four #4 as a confused antagonist into a key figure within Marvel's mutant titles. Throughout the 1980s, he developed as a supporting character on Muir Island and in the Fallen Angels limited series. In the 1990s, writer Peter David elevated Jamie within the government-sponsored X-Factor team, exploring his defense mechanism of using humor to cope with childhood isolation.
In the mid-2000s, David redefined Madrox into a gritty noir protagonist in the Madrox miniseries and X-Factor Investigations. This era introduced his strategic technique of sending independent dupes across the globe to learn skills before reabsorbing them. Subsequent storylines like Messiah Complex, Death of X (where he contracted M-Pox), and Matthew Rosenberg's 2018 Multiple Man miniseries pushed the character into darker time-travel narratives and explorations of rogue duplicate personalities.

When Jamie held his newborn son Sean for the first time, he accidentally reabsorbed the baby, discovering the infant was actually generated by a dupe.
