Biografia

David Charles Haller, known as Legion, is an Omega-level mutant created by writer Chris Claremont and artist Bill Sienkiewicz.

As the biological son of X-Men founder Professor Charles Xavier and Israeli diplomat Gabrielle Haller, David stands as one of the most uniquely powerful yet dangerously unpredictable entities in the Marvel Universe.

David lives with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) stemming from severe trauma in his childhood. Each of his thousands of alters controls a discrete, potent super-ability. Struggling continuously between internal madness and unmatched cosmic potential, David has operated across Marvel history as an unintended catalyst for reality-altering disasters, a tragic adversary, and a visionary hero.

LO SAPEVI?Actor Jon Hamm provided the uncredited voice of the narrator throughout Season 2 of the FX TV series *Legion*.

Storia

Born to Gabrielle Haller and Charles Xavier, David spent his early childhood unaware of his father's identity or his own latent mutant gifts. While living in Paris, a devastating anti-Semitic terrorist attack resulted in the death of his stepfather.

The extreme emotional horror triggered David's latent powers, generating a massive psychic blast that killed the terrorists. During the blast, David involuntarily absorbed the psyche of the terrorist leader, Jemail Karami, into his own mind.

The shock fractured David's subconscious into numerous distinct personalities—including Jemail (telepathy), Jack Wayne (telekinesis), and Cyndi (pyrokinesis)—and left his physical body catatonic until he was taken to Muir Island for psychiatric and mutant care.

LO SAPEVI?In the 2025 Ultimate Universe (*Earth-6160*), David exists as a digital consciousness named "The One" housed inside a Sentinel chassis constructed by Forge.

Evoluzione

Legion's character arc represents one of the most dramatic evolutions in Marvel history. Introduced in 1985 as a catatonic youth whose chaotic abilities made him a walking weapon, David spent his early decades primarily as a tragic plot engine—most notably causing the apocalyptic timeline erasure in *Legion Quest*. In Simon Spurrier's 2012 *X-Men: Legacy* run, David transformed into a self-reflective protagonist.

Rather than attempting to suppress his condition, he created a mental "Neural Switchboard" to harness his personalities and fight for his own identity. During the Krakoan Era in *Way of X* and *Legion of X*, David evolved into a community leader and moral philosopher, turning his mind into "The Altar"—a safe space for mutants to heal traumatized minds. Recent 2025 storylines highlight his multiversal adaptability, depicting him as the uninhibited "Evil Legion" wielding optic blasts and Phoenix power in Earth-616, while emerging as the digital war machine "The One" in a Sentinel frame within Earth-6160.

LO SAPEVI?Legion accidentally erased mainstream Marvel reality when his attempt to assassinate Magneto in *Legion Quest* resulted in him killing his father, Charles Xavier.

Da Collezione

While traditional physical action figures for David Haller remain scarce, Legion has carved out a distinct presence as a highly sought-after digital collectible item within strategic Marvel gaming franchises.

In *Marvel Snap*, Legion stands as an influential Series 4 tech card capable of instantly copying a target location across the entire game board, earning him widespread popularity and artistic variant collectibles such as Tarot and Toonforce variants. Collectors in *Marvel Puzzle Quest* chase Legion as a 4-Star Legendary character featuring distinct artwork representing his alters like Tyrannix the Abominoid and The Origamist. Additionally, legacy console artifacts like the "Legion Gauntlets" in *X-Men Legends II* remain memorable digital collectibles celebrating his deep roots in Marvel lore.

LO SAPEVI?His *Marvel Snap* card ability allows players to instantly overwrite every other location on the field with the location where Legion is played.
