Cronologia
Biografia
Marion Ravenwood is the sharp-witted, resilient heroine of the Indiana Jones universe and the ultimate dynamic match for Indiana Jones.
First introduced running a rough-and-tumble tavern in Patan, Nepal, Marion is far from a typical damsel in distress; she is an independent, formidable businesswoman capable of drinking heavy-drinking locals under the table and holding her own against dangerous adversaries.
Throughout the saga, Marion plays a vital role as Indy's trusted partner. From protecting the Headpiece to the Staff of Ra during the search for the Ark of the Covenant to reuniting with Indy decades later during the height of the Cold War and reconciling after family tragedy, Marion provides emotional grounding, fierce loyalty, and sharp pragmatism to Jones's chaotic globe-trotting lifestyle.
Storia
Born on March 23, 1909, Marion Ravenwood was the only child of renowned American archaeologist Abner Ravenwood. Although initially indifferent to her father's work, her life took a dramatic turn in 1925 when a young Indiana Jones studied under her father.
Indy and Marion engaged in a brief, intense romance that ended abruptly, causing a deep falling-out between Jones and her father.
Following the rift, Abner took Marion along on global archaeological expeditions across Europe, Egypt, Iraq, and Iran searching for the Ark of the Covenant. They eventually settled in Patan, Nepal, opening a bar called The Raven to fund Abner's mountain excavations. After her father reportedly died in an avalanche in early 1936, Marion took over sole management of the bar, staying afloat through sheer grit and winning high-stakes local drinking contests.

Evoluzione
Marion Ravenwood's character transforms from a resentful, self-reliant bar owner in Nepal into Indiana Jones's resilient life partner. When introduced in 1936, her bitterness toward Indy highlights her independence and reluctance to be pulled back into his orbit. However, her formidable nature quickly makes her an equal co-adventurer who stands toe-to-toe with dangerous villains rather than relying solely on rescue.
Over the decades, Marion's trajectory balances personal tragedy with independent career ambition. She manages a Manhattan nightclub, works in public relations, and marries RAF pilot Colin Williams during World War II. Following Colin's death and later the devastating loss of her son Mutt in Vietnam, Marion's character comes full circle in 1969 as she heals her separation from Indiana Jones, cementing her role as the emotional anchor of the franchise.

Legacy 3.75-inch figures from Kenner's original 1980s Raiders line and Hasbro's 2008 release continue to command strong interest on the secondary collector market. In the construction segment, LEGO expanded its physical offerings with set 77013 Escape from the Lost Tomb, featuring an updated Marion minifigure with detailed torso printing and dual-sided face expressions. Statue collectors and vintage toy completists actively target high-grade renditions of Marion in both her Nepal attire and her classic white Cairo dress.

Marion hired a young Frank Sinatra as a singer for her Manhattan nightclub, The Raven's Nest.
