Cronologia
Biografia

Madam Malkin is a friendly, squat witch dressed in mauve clothing who serves as the owner and master seamstress of Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions, situated in Diagon Alley, London, with a second branch in Paris.
Known for her welcoming personality, fairness, and strict stance against foul language or drawn wands in her establishment, she supplies wizarding attire ranging from Hogwarts school uniforms and traveling cloaks to formal dress robes. Her shop plays a pivotal role in the Harry Potter narrative. In August 1991, Harry Potter first met his long-term rival Draco Malfoy inside her boutique while being fitted for his first-year Hogwarts robes.
In 1996, another tense encounter occurred when Narcissa and Draco Malfoy clashed with Harry, Ron, and Hermione. During this event, Malkin reprimanded Draco for using the slur 'Mudblood' and accidentally pinched him with needles when attempting to adjust his sleeve, causing Draco to flinch violently and sparking Harry's suspicions regarding the Dark Mark. Malkin survived the Second Wizarding War and continued operating her Diagon Alley boutique well into the 2000s. During the Calamity in the late 2010s and early 2020s, she crafted custom lightweight combat robes for Ministry Aurors, demonstrating her continuous craftsmanship and support for the wizarding community.
Storia

Madam Malkin established herself as a prominent business owner in Diagon Alley sometime prior to 1929 when she took ownership of Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions.
Over the decades, she built a reputation for reliable magical tailoring, expanding her influence to international fashion events like the Which Witch? fashion show in Paris during early 1992.
Despite regularly catering to wealthy pure-blood families such as the Malfoys, Madam Malkin maintained an egalitarian approach to her business. Her insistence on courteous behavior in her boutique and her willingness to serve Muggle-born witches and wizards angered aristocratic patrons like Narcissa Malfoy, but solidified her shop's legacy as an essential rite of passage for generations of Hogwarts students.

Evoluzione
Originally depicted in J.K. Rowling’s novels as a squat, cheerful witch clad in mauve, Madam Malkin's portrayal has evolved across different media over three decades. While her physical character scenes were cut from the Warner Bros. film series—leaving her shop as a background storefront—she became a central figure in digital interactive media.
In video games such as LEGO Harry Potter, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, and Harry Potter: Magic Awakened, she evolved into the primary avatar customization NPC where players purchase new outfits. Her visual representation also adapted over time: while the original books describe her as squat, Harry Potter: Magic Awakened reinterpreted her as a stout, larger witch. With her upcoming live-action debut portrayed by Naomi Wirthner in the HBO Original series, Madam Malkin's canonical book interactions with Harry and Draco are finally being brought to screen media.
