Biografia

Kraglin Obfonteri is a loyal, friendly Xandarian who served as the first mate aboard the Eclector, the flagship of Yondu Udonta's Ravager clan. When Yondu abducted a young Peter Quill from Earth, Kraglin offered Quill kindness and acted like an older brother to help him endure Yondu's rigorous training.

Kraglin loyally stood by Yondu during major galactic events, including chasing down Quill for the Power Stone and fighting alongside the Guardians of the Galaxy to defend Xandar against Ronan the Accuser in 2014. During a mutiny aboard the Eclector led by Taserface, Kraglin initially sided with the mutineers out of fear.

However, overwhelmed by guilt after watching his crewmates executed, Kraglin secretly retrieved Yondu's prototype control fin. This act saved Yondu, Rocket, and Groot, enabling them to reclaim the ship. Following Yondu's death on Ego, Kraglin was gifted Yondu's cybernetic fin and Yaka Arrow, eventually becoming a full-time member of the Guardians of the Galaxy. After leading Ravager reinforcements in the Battle for Earth against Thanos, Kraglin resided on Knowhere with the Guardians. During the High Evolutionary's attack, Kraglin overcame his self-doubt and difficulty piloting the weapon, successfully mastering the Yaka Arrow and securing his place as an official member of Rocket Raccoon's new team.

Storia

Kraglin made his comic book debut in Tales to Astonish #46 in August 1963, created by Stan Lee, Ernie Hart, and Don Heck. In his Silver Age origin, Kraglin was a monstrous alien soldier belonging to the A-Chilitarian species from A-Chiltar III.

He served as an antagonist attempting an invasion of Earth in Greece before being defeated by Ant-Man (Hank Pym) and the Wasp (Janet van Dyne).

Following a 54-year publication gap, writers Chad Bowers and Chris Sims, along with artist Danilo Beyruth, reintroduced Kraglin to Marvel Comics (Earth-616) in All-New Guardians of the Galaxy Annual #1 (August 2017). His character design and role were completely revamped to align with his MCU live-action counterpart, placing him within Yondu Udonta's Ravagers squad.

LO SAPEVI?Actor Sean Gunn provided both the live-action performance for Kraglin and the physical motion-capture reference for Rocket Raccoon across the MCU films.

Evoluzione

Kraglin has undergone a dramatic transformation since his creation. Originally a minor 1963 comic alien villain defeated by Ant-Man and forgotten for over five decades, he was reinvented by director James Gunn for the 2014 MCU film Guardians of the Galaxy as a human-like alien and Yondu's loyal first mate. Over the course of the MCU films, Kraglin transforms from a conflicted follower into a hero in his own right.

After mistakenly enabling a mutiny in Vol. 2, his regret drives him to save Yondu and inherit his cybernetic fin and Yaka Arrow. While initially clumsy with the weapon—famously hitting Drax in the chest by mistake—Kraglin persistently practices on Knowhere. By Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, he overcomes his self-doubt, honors Yondu's legacy, and steps up as an essential member of Rocket's new Guardians team.

LO SAPEVI?Sean Gunn is the younger brother of James Gunn, director and writer of the Guardians of the Galaxy film trilogy.
