Cronologia
Biografia
Koala is a prominent officer in the Revolutionary Army, officially holding the title of Assistant Instructor of Fish-Man Karate under the Fish-Man martial artist Hack.
First introduced in flashbacks as an eight-year-old child slave liberated from Mary Geoise, she grows up to become a high-ranking key operative working directly alongside Revolutionary Chief of Staff Sabo and Supreme Commander Monkey D. Dragon. In the present timeline at age 23, Koala plays a crucial intelligence and operational role within the organization.
During the Dressrosa Arc, she infiltrates the underground trading port, uncovers secret weapons smuggling networks linked to the World Government, and provides tactical backing to Sabo during his confrontation with Marine Admiral Fujitora. Following the destruction of their headquarters at Baltigo, Koala relocates to the Kamabakka Kingdom base. She continues to manage vital operational communications for the Revolutionary Army, handling transmissions and debriefings during major international developments such as the Levely and the Egghead Arc.
Storia
As a young child on Foolshout Island, Koala was kidnapped and sold into slavery to the Celestial Dragons at Mary Geoise, where she was branded with the "Hoof of the Soaring Dragon." Traumatized by years of horrific abuse, she was conditioned never to cry or stop working, believing that showing any exhaustion or sorrow would result in her immediate execution.
In 1509 AOC, the legendary Fish-Man pirate Fisher Tiger raided Mary Geoise and freed hundreds of slaves, including Koala. Three years after her escape, local islanders entrusted the eleven-year-old Koala to the Sun Pirates.
Fisher Tiger covered her slave mark by branding it with the Sun Pirates' emblem and threw his gun into the sea to prove his crew would never harm her, allowing her to break down and cry for the first time in years. Although the Sun Pirates safely navigated to Foolshout Island to reunite Koala with her mother Muti, the local townspeople secretly betrayed Fisher Tiger to the Marines in exchange for Koala's full immunity, resulting in an ambush that fatally wounded Tiger. Deeply impacted by Fisher Tiger's sacrifice and the tragic cycle of hatred between species, Koala joined the Revolutionary Army three years later at age 14 to fight tyranny and foster mutual understanding between humans and Fish-Men.
I PEZZI DI KOALA
Evoluzione
Koala's trajectory is one of the most compelling human growth arcs in *One Piece*. Introduced as a traumatized eight-year-old slave, she initially suffered from severe psychological conditioning—smiling compulsively and cleaning endlessly out of intense fear of execution. Her rescue by Fisher Tiger broke this cycle; when Tiger threw his weapon into the sea and replaced her slave brand with the Sun emblem, Koala broke down crying for the first time in years and re-learned human empathy.
Following Fisher Tiger's fatal betrayal on her home island, Koala converted her trauma into lifelong purpose. Joining the Revolutionary Army at age 14, she dedicated her existence to bringing down the World Nobles and dismantling discrimination against Fish-Men. By learning Fish-Man Karate under Hack, she broke cultural barriers to become one of the very few human instructors of the martial art. By age 23, Koala has evolved into a confident, mature, and lighthearted officer who manages high-level intelligence and keeps headstrong allies like Sabo grounded.
Da Collezione
For *One Piece* enthusiasts and collectors, Koala occupies a unique position as a key bridge between the Sun Pirates flashback and the Revolutionary Army roster. Beyond video game unit representations in titles like *One Piece: Burning Blood* and *One Piece Thousand Storm*, her physical market presence is heavily anchored in trading cards. In the Bandai One Piece Trading Card Game (OP-TCG), Koala is a prominent staple for competitive play and high-grade card collecting.
She made her debut as a Super Rare (SR) Red Character card (`OP05-006`) in the *Awakening of the New Era* expansion (August 2023), becoming essential for Revolutionary deck archetypes. In August 2025, her value climbed further with her release as a primary Leader Card (`OP12-081`) in *OP-12: Legacy of the Master*, complete with highly prized Alternate Art variants. Promotional searcher printings in *Welcome Pack 2026 Vol. 1* continue to cement her status among TCG completionists.

Even after being freed from Mary Geoise for three years, her slave conditioning made her clean continuously until Fisher Tiger reassured her.
