Cronologia
Biografia

Katherine 'Kate' Pryde is a mutant superhero who joined Charles Xavier's X-Men as its youngest recruit. Initially adopting early codenames like Sprite and Ariel, she became world-renowned under the alias Shadowcat.
Over her long history, Kitty has served as a primary team member of the X-Men, a co-founding member of the British team Excalibur, Headmistress of the Jean Grey School for Higher Learning, and Captain Kate of the Marauders on Krakoa.
In the Earth-1610 (Ultimate) universe, she also fought crime alongside Spider-Man (Peter Parker), adopted the secret identity of Shroud, led the mutant nation of Utopia, and served as a member of the Young Ultimates. Beyond her core team affiliations, Kate is a master ninja trained in Japan after being brainwashed by Ogun, a genius computer programmer and hacker, and a skilled strategist who served on Krakoa's Quiet Council as the Red Queen. Accompanied by her companion dragon Lockheed, Kate has taken on cosmic mantles—such as Star-Lord with the Guardians of the Galaxy—and fought tirelessly for mutant-human coexistence across multiple dimensions.
Storia

Born as a 13-year-old Jewish girl in Deerfield, Illinois, Katherine Pryde discovered her mutant gifts when severe headaches culminated in her accidentally phasing through her bedroom floor.
Her manifestation drew simultaneous recruitment efforts from Professor Charles Xavier of the X-Men and Emma Frost of the Hellfire Club, with Kitty choosing Xavier's school. In the Earth-1610 (Ultimate) universe, Kitty was raised in New York by her mother, Theresa Pryde.
Her mother permitted her to attend Xavier's School under the strict condition that she not take part in combat missions or train in the Danger Room. However, Kitty's ambition led her to stow away on a jet to the Savage Land, where she saved Wolverine and Cyclops by phasing through Magneto's super-computer robot, earning her place as an official X-Man.

Evoluzione
Kitty Pryde's character evolution is marked by a transition from adolescent trainee to one of Marvel's most capable leaders. Introduced in 1980 as a 13-year-old taking on early codenames Sprite and Ariel, she underwent significant character growth after being possessed by Ogun in Japan (*Kitty Pryde and Wolverine*), gaining ninja training and adopting the name Shadowcat.
She transitioned to global heroics as a founding member of Excalibur, later becoming Headmistress of the Jean Grey School for Higher Learning and primary leader in *X-Men Gold*. During Krakoa's era, she adopted the moniker Kate Pryde, serving as Captain Kate of the Marauders and the Red Queen on the Quiet Council. Following Krakoa's fall, she operated as the lethal ninja Shadowkat against Orchis, before attempting civilian life as a bartender in Chicago in *Exceptional X-Men* (2024–2025), where she was drawn back into active heroics to co-lead new mutants. In Earth-1610, she similarly evolved from Xavier's student into the vigilante Shroud, leader of Utopia, and recipient of the U.S. Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Kitty saved Earth in *Giant-Size Astonishing X-Men* #1 by phasing a giant planet-destroying bullet through the entire planet, remaining trapped inside as it drifted through space.
