Cronologia
Biografia
Kion is the second-born cub of King Simba and Queen Nala, and the younger brother of Kiara. Unlike his parents and sister during their early years, Kion is naturally disciplined, obedient, and respectful of rules, displaying a strong sense of responsibility. When he unexpectedly discovers his ability to wield the Roar of the Elders, Simba and Rafiki reveal his destiny as the leader of the Lion Guard.
Defying centuries of tradition where the Guard was composed strictly of lions, Kion recruits his trusted multi-species friends—Bunga the honey badger, Fuli the cheetah, Beshte the hippopotamus, and Ono the egret—to defend the Circle of Life. Throughout his tenure as leader, Kion defends the Pride Lands against threats from the Outlands, including hyenas led by Janja and the resurrected spirit of his evil great-uncle Scar.
During the climax of the conflict against Scar's army, Kion is bitten on his left eye by the venomous cobra Ushari. The venom causes severe physical pain, emotional volatility, aggressive outbursts, and a loss of control over his Roar, forcing Kion to rely on Tuliza blossoms and his second-in-command Fuli to keep his temper in check. To heal from the venom, Kion leads the Guard on an extended trek to the distant Tree of Life. Under the care and guidance of Nirmala, he undergoes healing sessions that allow him to achieve inner peace and accept his scar. After mastering full control over the Roar of the Elders and passing leadership of the Pride Lands' Lion Guard to Vitani, Kion marries Queen Rani, taking up his new mantle as King of the Tree of Life.
Storia
Kion's origins trace back to his childhood playing in the Pride Lands alongside his best friend Bunga. While Simba focused on training Kiara to become Queen, Kion was content playing games like Baobab Ball.
His life changed dramatically when Bunga knocked their ball into the Outlands and was trapped by Scar's former hyena minions, Cheezi and Chungu. Driven by an urgent need to save his friend, Kion instinctively let out a powerful roar that blew the hyenas away.
Upon returning to Pride Rock, Simba and Rafiki brought Kion to the Lair of the Lion Guard. They revealed that his roar was the legendary Roar of the Elders and that he was destined to lead the defense of the realm. Despite Simba's initial resistance to Kion choosing non-lion members for the Guard, Kion trusted his instincts—encouraged by the spirit of his grandfather Mufasa—and proved the value of his team by successfully protecting the Pride Lands' gazelles from Janja's clan.
I PEZZI DI KION
Evoluzione
Kion undergoes significant physical, emotional, and leadership growth throughout his journey. As a cub, he begins as a rigid rule-follower haunted by the fear of becoming evil like his great-uncle Scar. Over time, he learns to temper his pride, apologize for mistakes, and overcome prejudices against Outlanders, forming key alliances with hyenas like Jasiri. As a teenager in Season 3, Kion grows taller, more muscular, and develops a reddish mane.
His biggest challenge arises after being bitten by Ushari, which leaves him with a scar on his left eye and venom in his bloodstream. The resulting pain triggers bouts of severe irritation, aggression, and loss of control over the Roar. Through his journey to the Tree of Life and guidance from Nirmala, Kion learns self-acceptance and inner balance. After mastering the Roar completely, he willingly relinquishes his title to Vitani and steps into adulthood as King of the Tree of Life alongside Queen Rani.
