Biografia

Vance Astrovik, initially operating under the superhero alias Marvel Boy before taking the name Justice, is a powerful telekinetic mutant in the Marvel Universe. Over his extensive publication history, Vance transitioned from an inexperienced, abused young hero into a seasoned team leader and respected mentor.

He was a founding member of the New Warriors, served as a core member of the Avengers, and worked as an instructor for young superhumans across multiple training programs. Throughout his journey, Vance's character has been defined by his moral resilience and deep sense of responsibility.

After enduring severe domestic abuse that resulted in the tragic, accidental death of his father and a subsequent prison sentence, Vance emerged with a redefined sense of purpose as Justice. He has consistently stood up for justice and the protection of young heroes, opposing systemic corruption within initiatives like Camp Hammond and enforcing underage superhuman welfare laws. In addition to his foundational work with the New Warriors and the Avengers, Vance's mutant heritage eventually brought him into flagship mutant teams. Armed with high-level telekinetic abilities and a deep knowledge of hero history, Justice remains a steadfast defender of both mutantkind and humanity.

LO SAPEVI?Vance Astrovik competed as a professional wrestler in the Unlimited Class Wrestling Federation under the stage names 'The Astounding Astrovik' and 'Manglin' John Mahoney.'

Storia

Vance Astrovik's origins are closely tied to a time-travel paradox involving his 31st-century alternate-future counterpart, Major Vance Astro of Earth-691. In 1975 (*Giant-Size Defenders* #5), Major Astro traveled back in time to Vance's hometown of Saugerties, New York, attempting to convince young Vance never to become an astronaut.

The psychological shock and temporal disruption prematurely unlocked young Vance's latent mutant telekinesis. Growing up, Vance suffered intense physical and verbal abuse from his father, Arnold Astrovik, who hated his son's mutant abilities.

Seeking escape, Vance ran away to join the Unlimited Class Wrestling Federation under the stage names 'The Astounding Astrovik' and 'Manglin' John Mahoney.' There, Ben Grimm (The Thing) befriended Vance, becoming a mentor figure and convincing him to return home. Vance later attempted to join the Avengers as Marvel Boy, but Captain America rejected him due to his youth and lack of experience, leading Vance to co-found the New Warriors.

Evoluzione

Vance Astrovik's arc is marked by personal growth, trauma rehabilitation, and maturity. Starting out as an eager but unproven teenager named Marvel Boy, his trajectory altered dramatically following domestic tragedy. After accidentally killing his abusive father while protecting his mother, Vance took full responsibility, surrendered to authorities, served time at the Vault prison, and earned parole. Marking a clean break with his past, he dropped the Marvel Boy moniker and adopted the identity of Justice in 1994.

From there, Justice evolved into a trusted pillar of the superhero community. He became the leader of the New Warriors and eventually achieved full active status with the Avengers, where his research into past team files uncovered Ultron's vibranium weakness. Vance later transitioned into a veteran teacher for younger heroes, forming Counter Force to fight corruption in the 50-State Initiative and teaching at the Avengers Academy. In late 2026, Vance achieved a historic milestone in *Maximum X-Men* by joining Storm's flagship X-Men team, marking the first time in his 50-year publication history that he officially joined a core X-Men roster.
