Cronologia
Biografia

Captain Jack Sparrow is a legendary pirate captain who wanders the Seven Seas seeking absolute freedom, immortal treasure, and his beloved ship, the Black Pearl.
Accentuated by long dark dreadlocks adorned with beads and trinkets, a faded tricorn hat, and a distinct swaggering walk, Jack often presents himself as an eccentric or bumbling fool to disarm his opponents. Beneath this facade lies a brilliant tactical mind capable of orchestrating complex escapes and manipulative bluffs.
As the Pirate Lord of the Caribbean Sea, Jack carries a 'piece of eight' consisting of a Siamese coin with Moroccan beads and bears both an East India Trading Company 'P' brand and a sparrow tattoo on his forearm. His maritime life is defined by high-stakes conflicts: after losing the Black Pearl to a mutiny led by his first mate Hector Barbossa, Jack spent ten years plotting revenge. His adventures continuously place him at the center of supernatural events, including Aztec curses, Davy Jones's blood debts, the Fountain of Youth, and vengeful ghost fleets.
Storia

Jack Sparrow was born to Captain Edward Teague, the Keeper of the Pirate Code. As a teenager, Jack set sail aboard the small vessel Barnacle alongside a ragtag crew, embarking on early quests for legendary artifacts like the Sword of Cortés.
By his mid-twenties, Jack attained the status of Pirate Lord of the Caribbean and fought the threat of the Shadow Lord alongside Hector Barbossa and Bootstrap Bill Turner. Jack later took employment with the East India Trading Company as a merchant captain commanding the Wicked Wench under Lord Cutler Beckett.
When Beckett ordered Jack to transport a cargo of enslaved people, Jack rebelled and set them free. In retribution, Beckett branded Jack a pirate and burned the Wicked Wench. Unwilling to lose his ship, Jack struck a deal with Davy Jones to raise the charred vessel from the seabed, rechristening her the Black Pearl. Jack captained the Pearl for two years before Barbossa led a mutiny, marooning Jack on a desert island with a single-shot pistol.

Evoluzione
Jack Sparrow's narrative arc evolves from an adventurous teenage rogue into a principled merchant captain, and ultimately into one of the nine Pirate Lords of the Brethren Court. His core character growth is established in his backstory: when working for Cutler Beckett, Jack makes the ethical choice to free a cargo of enslaved people, accepting total outlaw status and the destruction of his ship rather than compromising his morals.
Throughout the cinematic saga, Jack continually shifts between self-preservation and selfless heroism. While initially driven solely by the desire to reclaim the Black Pearl and avoid his debt to Davy Jones, he repeatedly risks his life for Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann. His sacrifice culminates when he willingly surrenders his chance to achieve personal immortality by stabbing Davy Jones' heart, choosing instead to guide Will Turner's hand to save Will's life.

For video game and physical figure collectors, Captain Jack Sparrow has featured prominently in interactive toys-to-life platforms.
Most notably, Jack Sparrow served as a key physical starter pack figure for Disney Infinity in 2013, which unlocked the dedicated Pirates of the Caribbean play-set world and allowed physical figure interaction on digital game boards. Additionally, high-definition physical home media releases—such as special Blu-ray box sets—have preserved unique canonical media including the short film Pirates of the Caribbean: Tales of the Code – Wedlocked.

Disney permanently retrofitted their classic 1967 Pirates of the Caribbean rides at Disneyland and Walt Disney World in 2006 to feature state-of-the-art Audio-Animatronics of Jack Sparrow.
