HOGWARTS
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is a legendary Scottish wizarding castle that functions as far more than a physical location—it is a living, quasi-sentient entity saturated with ancient magic. Founded around 990 A.D., the castle actively protects its students, shifts its internal layout, and resists dark forces with a consciousness of its own.
Cronologia
Biografia
Located upon massive rocks above the Black Lake in the Scottish Highlands, Hogwarts Castle is a stronghold of ancient magic and the premier wizarding school in Great Britain. Beyond being an architectural marvel featuring 142 shifting staircases, moving portraits, and hidden passages, Hogwarts possesses its own sentient persona.
It actively responds to the needs and intentions of those within its walls, manifesting adaptive spaces like the Room of Requirement and granting entrance to secret chambers only under specific, magical conditions. The castle's consciousness extends to its defense and governance.
It actively resists illegitimate authority, notably locking out Dolores Umbridge when she attempted to usurp the position of Headmistress. During moments of extreme peril, such as the Battle of Hogwarts in 1998, the castle's ancient enchantments awaken its physical structure, commanding suits of armor and statues to march in its defense and protecting the students who call it home.
Storia
Hogwarts was founded around 990 A.D. by four of the most extraordinary wizards and witches of the age: Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin. According to popular historical theory, Rowena Ravenclaw chose the location and name after dreaming of a warty hog leading her to a cliff by the Black Lake.
Upon arriving at the site, the four founders discovered a rare and powerful Pensieve half-buried in the dirt, securing their decision to build the school there. Rowena devised the castle's ever-changing floor plan, while all four founders placed ancient protective charms around the grounds, including Anti-Apparition Charms.
Although the founders initially worked in harmony, ideological rifts quickly emerged. Salazar Slytherin insisted that magic should only be taught to pure-blood students and advocated for teaching the Dark Arts. When the other three founders strongly opposed his views, Slytherin constructed the Chamber of Secrets deep beneath the castle—hiding a murderous basilisk inside—before abandoning the school. Following the founders' deaths, stewardship of the castle was entrusted to a line of Headmasters and Headmistresses.

Evoluzione
Hogwarts Castle has continuously evolved physically, magically, and structurally across its thousand-year history. Founded in ~990 A.D. with Rowena Ravenclaw's dynamic spatial architecture, its subterranean levels expanded during the Tudor period when the Keepers built the Map Chamber and trial chambers to hide repositories of ancient magic. In the 18th century, the installation of modern plumbing threatened the hidden Chamber of Secrets, prompting student Corvinus Gaunt to adapt the entrance by concealing it behind the sinks in the second-floor girls' bathroom.
Transportation within the castle evolved from strict prohibitions on Floo Network access to an interconnected system of Floo Flames by the 19th century. During the 1920s, growing threats from Gellert Grindelwald forced Headmaster Armando Dippet to institute emergency security lockdowns. The castle's physical integrity suffered its greatest historical damage during the 1998 Battle of Hogwarts when Lord Voldemort's army breached its magic barriers. In the modern era, the sentient institution continues to be re-imagined through open-world digital reconstructions like *Hogwarts Legacy* and the upcoming HBO television series.
Da Collezione
For high-end display collectors, Hogwarts Castle represents the ultimate centerpiece display item in the Harry Potter franchise. Unlike standard single-character action figures, Hogwarts collectibles focus on intricate architectural scale models, micro-dioramas, and premium display builds.
LEGO holds a dominant market share with massive, highly detailed flagship sets such as the microscale Hogwarts Castle and modular Great Hall playsets, which serve as true grail pieces for enthusiast builders. Collectibles manufacturers and prop replica studios also produce illuminated snow globes, fine resin sculptures, and detailed 3D architectural models highlighting the castle's iconic Astronomy, Ravenclaw, and Gryffindor towers above the Black Lake. With its central role in video games like *Hogwarts Legacy* and the upcoming HBO series, high-end replicas of Hogwarts Castle remain among the most valuable and sought-after items in wizarding world collecting.
The castle itself possesses enough sentience to reject rulers, notably sealing the Headmaster's Tower against Dolores Umbridge.
