GUARDIAN ROBOT
Guardian Robots (also known as Omega Sentinels, Omega Destructors, or G.A.D.E.P.) are mass-produced, giant robotic peacekeepers and defense platforms hailing from ancient Cybertron. Known for their distinct blue, white, and silver color schemes and modular rocket-base transformations, these towering mechanoids served as Cybertron's ultimate sentinels throughout its golden ages and civil wars.
Cronologia
Biografia
Guardian Robots are giant automated mechanical peacekeepers originally created during Cybertron's ancient past.
Built by the oppressionist Quintessons as Dark Guardians to keep worker and consumer robots in check, they were later reformatted by the Autobots into peaceful blue, white, and silver guardians to defend strategic locations like Crystal City and Iacon during Cybertron's Golden Age.
While the famous Autobot warrior Omega Supreme shared their exact structural design, he was unique in possessing individual self-awareness, speech, sentience, and a distinct red, yellow, and blue color scheme. Standard Guardian Robots were generally stoic, mass-produced defensive platforms that gave Decepticon armies immense trouble during the early days of the Cybertronian Civil War before eventually being deactivated or destroyed in heavy fighting.
Storia
Millions of years ago, the Quintessons constructed giant Dark Guardian drones to crush Transformer uprisings. When ancient Autobots revolted and expelled their alien masters, the Cybertronians repurposed these massive war machines into Guardian Robots to serve as peacekeepers.
During the reign of the Thirteen Primes and Nova Prime, Omega Sentinels spearheaded stellar exploration and the colonization invasion of the planet Antilla, a bloody war that ended in planetary devastation and caused outer space races to fear Cybertronian power.
During the rise of the Decepticons, Guardian Robots defended Iacon and the Decagon against Megatron's assault. Many units fell over the course of the war: Zeta Prime modified several into energy-draining 'Omega Destructors' to crush rebellion in Nyon, Shockwave destroyed multiple sentinels in battle, and Megatron even reanimated a headless Guardian chassis to unleash upon Optimus Prime until it was brought down by Superion.

Evoluzione
The Guardian Robot originated in 1985 as a simple blue-and-silver animation palette swap of G1 Omega Supreme for 'The Transformers' cartoon. Over the decades, comic publishers transformed these generic animation assets into vital world-building lore.
Dreamwave's 'The War Within' established them as automated city guardians under the moniker 'Omega Sentinels', while IDW Publishing further expanded their lore into ancient space-faring conquerors that invaded Antilla and 'Omega Destructors' used by Zeta Prime as energon-draining enforcers. In animated TV shows like 'Transformers: Energon' and 'Transformers Animated', the concept shifted from silent generic drones to strategic military commanders and a fleet of Greek-lettered war machines (such as Alpha, Beta, and Sigma Supreme). Modern continuities like Netflix's 'War for Cybertron Trilogy' continue to portray them as ancient, neutral titans representing Cybertron's lost Golden Age.
Da Collezione
For Transformers completionists, the Guardian Robot is a legendary screen-to-toy concept. For over two decades, the character existed strictly on screen, until Takara released the e-HOBBY exclusive 'Toshi Boei Robo GADEP' in 2008. Reused from the G1 Omega Supreme mold with a retooled head and motorized walking chassis, GADEP stands as one of the rarest and most expensive G1 army-builder grail figures in existence.
In 2023, Hasbro and Takara Tomy delivered the definitive modern masterpiece: the 'Generations Selects Titan Class Guardian Robot & Lunar-Tread'. Designed by John Warden, Takashi Kunihiro, and Shogo Hasui, this massive 24-inch figure is a heavy retool and recolor of 'Siege' Omega Supreme. Retaining full transformation into a rocket launch base and motorized tank track, it incorporates modern articulation, C.O.M.B.A.T. ports, and A.I.R. Lock system ramps, making it the ultimate centerpiece for high-end Titan collectors.

The official Japanese acronym G.A.D.E.P. stands for 'Groundling Auto-Destruct Powerbroker'.
