GRAND INQUISITOR
The Grand Inquisitor is a Pau'an former Jedi Temple Guard who fell to the dark side and was appointed by Emperor Palpatine to lead the Galactic Empire's Inquisitorius. Operating directly under Darth Vader, he spearheaded the galactic purge of surviving Jedi until his fateful demise above Mustafar.
Cronologia
Biografia

The Grand Inquisitor was the highest-ranking agent of the Inquisitorius, an elite Imperial organization dedicated to hunting down Jedi who survived Order 66.
Personally selected by Emperor Palpatine and trained by Darth Vader, the Pau'an dark side adept possessed broad discretionary power within the Empire, commanding Purge Troopers, requisitioning military assets, and overseeing sinister endeavors like Project Harvester to abduct Force-sensitive children.
In 9 BBY, he led the search for Master Obi-Wan Kenobi across Tatooine and Daiyu alongside the Third Sister (Reva) and the Fifth Brother. When Reva stabbed him in a bid for power, the Grand Inquisitor survived thanks to his Pau'an physiology and sheer obsession with revenge, later reclaiming his rank on Jabiim after Reva's failed strike against Vader. Years later, his relentless campaign focused on a rebel cell on Lothal led by Jedi survivor Kanan Jarrus and his apprentice Ezra Bridger. Following a fierce lightsaber duel aboard the Star Destroyer Sovereign over Mustafar in 4 BBY, the Grand Inquisitor chose to fall into an exploding reactor core, knowing death was preferable to facing Darth Vader's wrath for failure.
Storia

Before his tragic turn, the Pau'an male served as a high-ranking, masked Jedi Temple Guard on Coruscant during the Clone Wars.
He was present during pivotal events in Jedi history, including escorting Ahsoka Tano during her trial and helping apprehend the traitorous Barriss Offee.
Over time, disillusionment festered within him regarding the hypocrisy of the Jedi High Council. His bitterness turned into resentment when Chief Librarian Jocasta Nu restricted his access to the deeper lore of the Jedi Archives. Following the execution of Order 66 in 19 BBY, Supreme Chancellor Palpatine exploited his frustration, recruiting him to head the newly created Inquisitorius.

Evoluzione
starting as a noble defender of peace, the Grand Inquisitor's journey represents a tragic degradation into dark side obsession. As a Jedi Temple Guard, he held a sacred duty to protect the Jedi Order, but disillusionment during the Clone Wars corroded his faith. Upon submitting to Palpatine, he abandoned his identity to become a ruthless weapon against his former brethren.
Across media releases, his physical and narrative presence shifted from his stylized animated appearance in Star Wars Rebels (voiced by Jason Isaacs) to a live-action depiction in Obi-Wan Kenobi (played by Rupert Friend). Even after death, his character evolved into a tragic eternal prisoner: Darth Vader bound his fiery soul to guard an abandoned Jedi outpost on Tempes, ensuring his servitude extended beyond mortality.
Da Collezione
For Star Wars display collectors, the Grand Inquisitor presents a strikingly distinct villain aesthetic with his elongated Pau'an facial markings, high Imperial collar, and double-bladed spinning lightsaber. Early physical releases began in 2015 with the Disney Infinity 3.0 figurine, capturing his sleek animated appearance from Star Wars Rebels.
In tabletop gaming and physical miniatures, Atomic Mass Games brought the character into tactical play with Star Wars: Shatterpoint (2023), releasing a high-detail unpainted commander miniature within the Inquisitorius squad packs. Collectors also chase his LEGO minifigure incarnations, spanning original Rebels-era ship sets to modern builds based on his live-action appearance in Obi-Wan Kenobi.

He was retroactively confirmed to be one of the masked Jedi Temple Guards who escorted Ahsoka Tano during her trial.
