GELGOOG MARINE
The MS-14F Gelgoog Marine is a high-mobility space assault Mobile Suit produced by the Zeonic Company late in the One Year War. Derived from the MS-14B Gelgoog High Mobility Type, it was mass-produced for the Zeon Marine Corps and became the signature unit of Cima Garahau's Cima Fleet during the Delaz Conflict in UC 0083.
Cronologia
Biografia
The MS-14F Gelgoog Marine is a specialized, space-combat Mobile Suit engineered for the Principality of Zeon's Marine Corps (MAU).
Mass-produced in limited numbers late in the One Year War at the A Baoa Qu manufacturing plant under the United Maintenance Plan, the suit sacrificed terrestrial equipment in favor of enhanced thrusters, forearm cannons, and detachable external propellant tanks for extended space operations.
The suit achieved prominence through its deployment within Cima Garahau's Cima Fleet during UC 0083. Cima secured roughly 30 Gelgoog Marines for her fleet, stationing six aboard her flagship, the Lili Marlene, and dispersing the remainder across seven Musai-class Late Production Type cruisers. Gelgoog Marines participated in repeated engagements against the Earth Federation ship Albion, planted explosives on colony mirrors during Operation Stardust, and fought in both the defense and eventual betrayal of the Delaz Fleet. Following the war, captured Gelgoog Marines were retained by Earth Federation forces, including a unit utilized for pilot training at Oakley Base in North America.
Storia
Development of the MS-14F Gelgoog Marine began immediately after the basic MS-14A Gelgoog design was finalized late in the One Year War.
In an unprecedented engineering push lauded by Zeon military PR as "Zeonic Magic," the entire conversion design was completed in just half a month—a feat that tragically resulted in the project lead dying from overwork.
Positioned as a lower-cost alternative to the high-end MS-14JG Gelgoog Jäger, the Gelgoog Marine delivered comparable mobility and range while being significantly cheaper to manufacture. Prior to full implementation of the United Maintenance Plan, a short production run was completed at A Baoa Qu. During the final Battle of A Baoa Qu on December 31, U.C. 0079, Gelgoog Marines from MAU Cima and Geil Hunt's MAU Geil fought through enclosing Federation forces in E Field to break out into deep space, enabling Cima's force to survive as space pirates until the events of Operation Stardust in UC 0083.

Evoluzione
The MS-14F Gelgoog Marine represented a focused evolutionary shift from general-purpose mobile suit architecture to specialized space assault operations. Derived directly from the MS-14B Gelgoog High Mobility Type, engineers discarded atmospheric jet engines in favor of high-output space thrusters, external dual-purpose propellant/coolant tanks, and internal forearm 110mm cannons.
This combination allowed the Marine variant to achieve near-parity with elite mobile suits while maintaining cost efficiency. Key design innovations from the Gelgoog Marine were directly incorporated into the subsequent MS-14JG Gelgoog Jäger. The framework also spawned customized elite variants, most notably Cima Garahau's MS-14Fs Gelgoog Marine Commander Type, which added head vulcan cannons, upgraded thrusters, and the high-output MRB-110 beam rifle. In expanded media such as *Mobile Suit Gundam 0083 ReB rebellion*, the suit served as the structural base for the stealth-focused MS-14R Gelgoog R.
Da Collezione
For mecha and Gunpla collectors, the Gelgoog Marine is a cornerstone design representing late-One Year War Zeon aesthetics. Bandai introduced the initial 1/144 scale assembly kits in 1992 alongside the *Gundam 0083* OVA release. Modern Gunpla builders frequently seek the High Grade Universal Century entries: HGUC #016 MS-14F Gelgoog Marine Mass Production Type (released in 2000) and HGUC #026 MS-14Fs Gelgoog Marine Cima Custom (released in 2002), both based on mechanical designs by Hajime Katoki.
Bandai also issued a niche 1/144 Zeon Remnant Version under the *Advance of Zeta: The Flag of Titans* line. In action figures, the characterful Mobile Suit received major premium releases in Bandai's Robot Spirits `<SIDE MS>` ver. A.N.I.M.E. line. Tamashii Nations released the Commander Type ver. A.N.I.M.E. as a Tamashii Web / Premium Bandai exclusive in February 2021, followed by the Mass Production Type in August 2021. The ultimate grail piece for Cima Fleet fans arrived in August 2023 with the Premium Bandai Robot Spirits ~Lili Marleen Launch Pad Set~, which bundled the Commander unit with a detailed catapult deck diorama.

The suit's conversion design took only half a month—dubbed 'Zeonic Magic'—though the project lead died from overwork.
