Cronologia
Biografia
Fumikage Tokoyami, known professionally as the Jet-Black Hero: Tsukuyomi, is a prominent student in Class 1-A at U.A. High School. Characterized by his unique physical appearance—a bird-like black head with a yellowish beak and red choker paired with an otherwise average human body—Tokoyami is reserved, serious, and deeply focused.
Beneath his noble and valiant exterior, he possesses a theatrical 'chūnibyō' personality, frequently describing himself as a creature of darkness and employing archaic, dramatic speech. Despite his solemn demeanor, Tokoyami is a fierce and dependable ally who deeply values his classmates and mentors. He consistently stands out as one of Class 1-A's most capable fighters, earning 3rd place in the U.A. Sports Festival.
During his education, he interned under the top Pro Hero Hawks, refining his aerial movement and overcoming his limitations in physical close-range combat. Throughout major conflicts—including the Forest Training Camp invasion, the Paranormal Liberation War, and the Final War against All For One—Tokoyami proved to be a vital frontline combatant. Following the eight-year time jump after the Final War, Tokoyami achieved his goal of becoming a professional hero, rising to the rank of No. 17 Pro Hero.
Storia
As a child, Fumikage possessed softer and rounder features on his hair, eyes, and beak before maturing into his sharper adolescent appearance. He gained entry to U.A. High School by placing 9th overall in the U.A.
Entrance Exam, accumulating the fifth-highest amount of villain points, and went on to rank 5th in the Quirk Apprehension Test. Throughout his early training at U.A., Tokoyami struggled with the volatile nature of his Quirk, Dark Shadow.
Because darkness and negative emotions like anger or regret cause Dark Shadow to grow rapidly and lose control, Tokoyami initially feared losing himself to his Quirk's berserker state. To address this vulnerability and improve his close-range combat skills, he engaged in intensive training—including training inside pitch-black caves—and completed work-study internships under Pro Hero Hawks.

Evoluzione
Fumikage Tokoyami undergoes substantial emotional, physical, and technical growth over the course of the series. Initially timid in extreme peril and insecure about his dark, arcane aesthetic interests, Tokoyami was deeply fearful of Dark Shadow's propensity to go on uncontrollable rampages in total darkness. Recognizing his physical limitations in close-quarters combat, he transformed Dark Shadow into armor using 'Black Abyss' following advice from All Might.
His internships under Pro Hero Hawks marked a turning point in his heroic career. Under Hawks, Tokoyami built a significantly more muscular physique and developed 'Black Fallen Angel' to master high-speed aerial movement. During the Paranormal Liberation War and Final War, Tokoyami displayed bravery by standing up to top-tier threats like Dabi and All For One. Eight years after graduation, Tokoyami sports a taller frame and a scruffier hairstyle reminiscent of Hawks, holding the rank of No. 17 Pro Hero.
