Biografia
Adam Joseph Copeland, known globally by his ring name Edge (and later as 'Cope' in All Elite Wrestling), is a Canadian professional wrestler and actor.
Debuting in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in 1998, he initially captured attention as a mysterious loner before achieving iconic status alongside his storyline brother Christian as seven-time WWF World Tag Team Champions during the height of the Attitude Era.
Copeland subsequently rose to upper-echelon singles stardom, transforming into 'The Rated-R Superstar.' Over his storied career in WWE, he captured 31 total championships, including 11 World Championships (four WWE Championships and seven World Heavyweight Championships), two Royal Rumble match victories (2010 and 2021), and the inaugural Money in the Bank ladder match in 2005. Forced into a premature retirement in 2011 due to cervical spinal stenosis, Copeland was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2012. After undergoing spinal fusion surgeries, he made a miraculous return to the ring in 2020. He went on to found the faction The Judgment Day, transition to AEW in 2023, and build a successful acting career with roles in Haven, Vikings, and Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
Storia
Adam Copeland was born on October 30, 1973, in Orangeville, Ontario, Canada. Raised by his single mother, Judy Copeland, who worked two jobs to support him, Copeland grew up having never met his father or seen a photograph of him.
From an early age, he developed a passion for professional wrestling, idolizing stars such as Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, Mr. Perfect, Randy Savage, Hulk Hogan, and Ricky Steamboat. At eighteen, Copeland won an essay contest held by Sully's Gym offering free wrestling training to the winner.
Trained by Sweet Daddy Siki and Ron Hutchison in Toronto, he balanced his training with various jobs and earned a diploma in radio broadcasting from Humber College. Throughout the 1990s, Copeland wrestled across the independent circuit under names like Sexton Hardcastle, Adam Impact, and Damon Striker (in WCW Pro). Following a recommendation from Bret Hart, Copeland signed a developmental contract with the WWF in 1997, making his official television debut as Edge the following year.
I PEZZI DI EDGE
Evoluzione
Edge's character evolution is one of the most dynamic in professional wrestling history. Debuting in 1998 as a brooding, silent loner who entered through the crowd, he quickly transitioned into a gothic vampire persona as part of The Brood alongside Gangrel and Christian. Soon after, Edge and Christian shifted into a hilarious, fan-favorite heel tag team of 'cool dudes' famed for their 'five-second poses' and revolutionary ladder match heroics.
In 2005, following his victory in the first-ever Money in the Bank ladder match, Edge underwent his most defining transformation into 'The Rated-R Superstar.' Embracing an opportunistic, cunning villain persona alongside manager Lita, he captured his first WWE Championship in 2006 by cashing in on John Cena. He solidified his main-event dominance by founding La Familia with Vickie Guerrero. After being forced into retirement in 2011 due to cervical spinal stenosis, Edge returned nine years later in 2020 as a revered veteran grit-and-determination babyface. He briefly explored a darker side by creating the faction The Judgment Day in 2022 before transitioning to All Elite Wrestling in 2023 under his real name, Adam Copeland (and the mononym 'Cope'), reuniting with Christian Cage.

Copeland wrote his entire 2004 autobiography, 'Adam Copeland on Edge,' longhand while recovering from cervical spinal surgery.
