DRAGO
In the world of Funko collectibles, Drago spans both an original IP character from the Paka Paka: Fruit Bats vinyl line and major licensed icons under the Funko Pop! banner. Most prominently, this includes Soviet heavyweight boxer Captain Ivan Drago from the Rocky saga and Drago (Pyrus Dragonoid) from Bakugan.
Cronologia
Biografia
In Funko's original universe lore, Drago is a dragon-fruit-themed fruit bat introduced in the Paka Paka capsule line. Residing on Fruit Isle within the Food Isle archipelago, Drago is recognized by his pink and orange scaly exterior.
Despite his dragon-like scales, he is canonically sweet, tenderhearted, and curious, enjoying flights across Fruit Isle with fellow bats like Ava, Ruby, Lima, and Pinya.
In licensed pop culture collectibles produced by Funko, 'Drago' primarily refers to Captain Ivan Drago, the Soviet heavyweight boxer portrayed by Dolph Lundgren in the Rocky film franchise. Drago acts as a central antagonist who fatally defeats Apollo Creed in an exhibition match before fighting Rocky Balboa in Moscow, later returning years later as a trainer and father seeking redemption. Additionally, Funko represents Drago as Pyrus Dragonoid, the main Bakugan partner of Dan Kuso in Bakugan Battle Brawlers, as well as mascot crossovers like Freddy Funko as Dragon Loong.
Storia
The origins of Drago depend on the specific character line within Funko's catalog.
Funko created the original IP character Drago for the 2020–2022 Paka Paka: Fruit Bats series, giving him a backstory rooted in Fruit Isle.
In cinema, Captain Ivan Drago debuted in 1985's Rocky IV as an elite Soviet military officer trained with cutting-edge science and brutal discipline, whose defeat of Apollo Creed altered the trajectory of Rocky Balboa's career.
