DARKSEID
Darkseid, originally named Uxas, is the tyrannical New God ruler of the hellish planet Apokolips and one of the most formidable supervillains in DC Comics. Created by writer-artist Jack Kirby, his ultimate objective is to discover and unleash the Anti-Life Equation to strip away free will and enslave all sentient life across the Multiverse to his singular consciousness.
Cronologia
Biografia

Darkseid, born Prince Uxas, is the absolute ruler of Apokolips and the undisputed God of Evil in the DC Universe. Embodying the primal force of constraint and tyranny, he stands as a fundamental cosmic counterweight to life, freedom, and heroes like Superman and the Justice League.
Operating from his scorched, fire-pitted homeworld, Darkseid enforces his iron rule through fear and unyielding intimidation, backed by legions of Parademons and a terrifying inner circle of generals and torturers.
Darkseid's central obsession is mastering the Anti-Life Equation—a mathematical proof that eradicates individual free will and subjects all conscious existence to his central authority. Armed with the cosmic power of the Omega Effect, Mother Boxes, and dimensional Boom-Tubes, he continually orchestrates multiversal campaigns to crush Earth, rewrite reality, and force all creation to bow to his command.
Storia

Darkseid began his life as Uxas, a prince of Apokolips born to King Yuga Khan and Queen Heggra. Seeking absolute dominance, Uxas sowed corruption and strife among the Old Gods to steal their power.
He subsequently murdered his brother Drax to claim the destructive Omega Force for himself, taking the god-name Darkseid and usurping the throne of Apokolips after deposing his mother.
Though Darkseid secretly loved the sorceress Suli and fathered his firstborn son Kalibak with her, Heggra had Suli poisoned to preserve her son's ruthless ambition. Cold and hardened, Darkseid banished his second wife Tigra, traded his son Orion to Highfather Izaya of New Genesis in a fragile peace pact, and fathered other children including Grail. Across various cosmic reboot eras, from Galactica to the New 52, Uxas's origin remains tied to galactic conflict, patricide, and an unrelenting quest for cosmic supreme rule.

Evoluzione
Introduced by Jack Kirby in 1970 as part of his groundbreaking Fourth World saga, Darkseid originally served as the dark monarch of Apokolips locked in an eternal war with New Genesis. Over the decades, his role expanded into the ultimate multiversal threat in major DC events such as The Great Darkness Saga (1982), JLA: Rock of Ages (1997), and Final Crisis (2008), where his physical death shattered his godhead across dimensions.
With The New 52 reboot in 2011, Darkseid's invasion of Earth served as the unifying catalyst that formed the original Justice League, leading into the epic Darkseid War (2015). During Infinite Frontier (2021) and Dark Crisis (2022), Darkseid merged all prior multiversal incarnations into a single definitive True Form on Earth Omega. By 2024, in DC All-In Special #1, Darkseid absorbed cosmic Alpha World energy, sparking the birth of the Absolute Universe and positioning himself as the primary architect behind DC's reimagined reality.
Curiosità
* Darkseid made his very first brief cameo appearance in Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen #134 in December 1970 before his full debut in Forever People #1. * To secure a truce with New Genesis, Darkseid traded his infant son Orion for Highfather's son Scott Free (Mister Miracle).
* During Final Crisis, Darkseid was mortally wounded by Batman using a radion bullet, marking a rare exception to Batman's strict moral rule against firearms. * While stranded on Earth 33 for three months, Darkseid disguised himself as a DC Comics editor named Ulrich Saxman. * In the 2008 video game Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, Darkseid merged with Mortal Kombat villain Shao Kahn to create the hybrid entity Dark Kahn.
