Cronologia
Biografia
Daphne Ann Blake is one of the core protagonists of the Scooby-Doo franchise, debuting in 1969's Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! created by Joe Ruby and Ken Spears.
Despite coming from an extravagantly wealthy background, Daphne chooses to live independently during her adolescence, sharing the same financial struggles as the rest of Mystery Incorporated.
Recognizable by her iconic purple dress, pink tights, purple shoes, and green ascot scarf, she serves as a pivotal investigator in the gang. While early depictions emphasized her tendency to get trapped, her character quickly evolved into a quick-thinking, resourceful problem solver. Daphne possesses a black belt in Karate, excels at lockpicking with beauty accessories, rides motorcycles, and has worked as a freelance investigative reporter and TV news host.
Storia
Designed by Iwao Takamoto and inspired by Thalia Menninger (played by Tuesday Weld) in the 1960s sitcom The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis, Daphne Blake's origins tie into a long family history of wealth and misadventure.
During her junior high years in Coolsville, she was fashion-conscious and worked alongside Mystery Inc. out of a clubhouse as part of the Scooby-Doo Detective Agency, charging minimal fees for their services.
In her youth, Daphne was prone to relying on her family butler, Jenkins, and managed her father's arcade. As she grew older, she took on various odd jobs—including managing a carnival's tunnel of love and performing in a singing duo with Fred Jones—before establishing a career as an investigative reporter and television program host.

Evoluzione
Daphne Blake's portrayal has experienced a dramatic evolution since her introduction in 1969. Initially dubbed 'Danger-Prone Daphne', early seasons cast her primarily as the fashion-focused damsel in distress who frequently triggered trapdoors and needed rescue. In A Pup Named Scooby-Doo, her younger self was portrayed as vain and reliant on her butler Jenkins.
Beginning in the late 1970s and 1980s, driven by changing attitudes toward female characters, Daphne morphed into an empowered figure. In The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo, she assumed full leadership of the group. Later animated films like Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island established her as a professional TV reporter. Subsequent series solidified her martial arts skills and lockpicking dexterity, while comic runs such as Scooby Apocalypse reimagined her as a high-tech survival reporter, turning her into one of the gang's most dangerous and effective leaders.
