Biografia

Damian Wayne is the biological son of Batman (Bruce Wayne) and Talia al Ghul, making him the grandson of League of Assassins leader Ra's al Ghul.

Genetically engineered and raised from birth by his mother and the League to be a deadly warrior, Damian was introduced into Bruce Wayne's care as an aggressive, arrogant ten-year-old child.

Despite his deadly initial training, he embraced the heroic legacy of Gotham City and officially became the fifth character to serve as Robin. Throughout his superhero career, Damian has formed dynamic crime-fighting partnerships, most notably alongside Dick Grayson during Grayson's tenure as Batman, and with Jonathan Kent (Superboy) as the Super Sons. He has led iterations of the Teen Titans, competed in martial arts tournaments on Lazarus Island, and eventually moved into a suburban Gotham home with his father Bruce Wayne to operate as a crime-fighting father-son duo.

LO SAPEVI?Damian was genetically engineered and grown inside an artificial womb by his mother, Talia al Ghul.

Storia

Damian Wayne's conceptual blueprint debuted in the 1987 graphic novel 'Batman: Son of the Demon' by Mike W. Barr and Jerry Bingham, which introduced an unnamed baby born to Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul.

Although originally considered non-canon, writer Grant Morrison and artist Andy Kubert formally introduced Damian into main DC Comics continuity in 2006's 'Batman' #655 ('Batman and Son').

Grown in an artificial womb and subjected to intense physical and mental conditioning by the League of Assassins, Damian was trained to be a master martial artist and strategist before reaching double digits. When Talia left him in Bruce Wayne's care at age ten, Damian's violent instincts initially conflicted with Batman's code against killing. Following Bruce's apparent death in 'Final Crisis', Dick Grayson assumed the mantle of Batman and chose Damian as his Robin, believing mentorship would prevent the boy from becoming a villain.

LO SAPEVI?In the Injustice storyline, Damian accidentally kills Dick Grayson during a prison riot and assumes the mantle of Nightwing.

Evoluzione

Damian Wayne's character arc represents one of DC Comics' most significant modern character evolutions. Initially introduced in 2006 as a violent, arrogant child who freely used lethal force, Damian challenged the core moral principles of Batman and created friction across the Bat-family.

His character trajectory shifted dramatically under the tutelage of Dick Grayson, who took Damian on as Robin; Grayson's optimistic Batman balanced Damian's dark, cynical nature and taught him the value of justice over vengeance. Subsequent eras deepened Damian's humanity. His sacrifice and death fighting his clone, the Heretic, followed by Bruce Wayne's journey to Apokolips to resurrect him, cemented his bond with his father. Through his endearing friendship with Jonathan Kent in 'Super Sons', his tenure leading the Teen Titans, his 'Year of Atonement' quest, and his participation in the Lazarus Tournament, Damian evolved from a cold assassin into a empathetic, independent hero.

LO SAPEVI?Prior to his official canon creation in 2006, an unnamed baby version of Damian was prototyped in the 1987 graphic novel 'Batman: Son of the Demon'.

Da Collezione

Damian Wayne has been featured prominently across physical LEGO sets and specialized minifigures accompanying DC direct-to-video films such as 'LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League – Gotham City Breakout', 'Aquaman – Rage of Atlantis', and 'LEGO DC Batman: Family Matters'.

In addition to physical building sets, Damian's distinct suit designs—ranging from his classical Robin suit to alternate variants like his 'Nightmare Robin' and 'Nightwing' iterations—have been featured across digital collectible ecosystems and playable rosters in video games including 'LEGO Batman 2', 'Injustice 2', 'DC Legends', and 'DC: Dark Legion'.

LO SAPEVI?After dying in combat against his clone, the Heretic, Damian was resurrected on Apokolips using a Chaos Shard, temporarily granting him superpowers.
