COMMISSAR YARRICK
Commissar Sebastian Yarrick is a legendary officer of the Astra Militarum, renowned as the 'Hero of Hades Hive' and the ultimate nemesis of the Ork Warlord Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka. Defined by his indomitable iron will, he is one of the few humans respected and feared by the Greenskin race as a master strategist.

Biografia
Sebastian Yarrick is a peerless Imperial hero who rose to prominence during the Second and Third Wars for Armageddon. Although he was a veteran scheduled for retirement on the very day the Orks first landed on Armageddon, he chose to lead the defense of Hades Hive against overwhelming odds.
His leadership was so effective that he turned the siege into a personal contest between himself and the Warlord Ghazghkull Thraka, buying the Imperium enough time to launch a successful counter-attack.
Throughout his long career, Yarrick has served in over a dozen warzones with various regiments, including those from Necromunda and the Armageddon Steel Legion. Following a period where he was reported dead and honored by the ringing of the Bell of Lost Souls on Terra, he made a dramatic return in 2026. He reappeared on Armageddon to execute a cowardly planetary governor and rally the Imperial forces for a new 'Era of Vengeance' against the encroaching Ork vanguard.
Storia
Born on Taos III as Sebastian Vaarden, Yarrick was orphaned at the age of seven. He was raised by his maternal grandfather, a veteran sergeant who taught him the arts of combat, trapping, and survival.
When Orks invaded Taos III, the young boy survived alone for months in the wilderness, hunting Gretchin and foraging until he was rescued by an Imperial relief force at age ten.
Upon his rescue, he adopted 'Yarrick' as his surname in honor of his grandfather. He was later educated at the Schola Progenium, where he became an expert on Ork psychology and learned their language from a human raider who had once been their prisoner.
Evoluzione
Yarrick's character has transitioned from a stalwart veteran officer into a literal living saint of the Imperial Guard. In early editions of Warhammer 40,000, he was defined by his sheer tenacity and the novelty of using Ork technology against the xenos.
By the 9th Edition, he was narratively 'retired' and rumored dead, with some lore suggesting he was slain by Angron. However, the 2026 'Return to Armageddon' story arc evolved him further, presenting an even older, more grizzled version of the character supported by heavy cybernetics. He is no longer just a commander but a symbol of the Imperium's refusal to die, even as his own body requires mechanical armature to keep fighting.

For decades, the classic metal and resin Sebastian Yarrick miniatures were the only way to field the character, known for their iconic pose with the raised Power Klaw. These older models remain highly collectible, especially the original metal casts from the 1990s.
The collecting market was revitalized in March 2026 with the release of a new, highly detailed plastic miniature for the 10th/11th Edition transition. This new sculpt, which features his massive cybernetic exoskeleton and updated 'Ork-snipping' Klaw, has become a 'grail' item for Astra Militarum players. Collectors also seek out the 'Yarrick: The Omnibus' and limited edition Black Library prints which often appreciate in value due to his legendary status.
He survived alone on his homeworld of Taos III for three years when he was only seven years old.
