CHAR AZNABLE
Char Aznable, born Casval Rem Deikun, is the legendary 'Red Comet' and the most iconic antagonist and anti-hero of the Gundam franchise. Known for his tactical genius, masked identity, and intense rivalry with Amuro Ray, he evolved from a vengeful prince into a revolutionary leader across several decades of Universal Century history.
Cronologia
Biografia
Char Aznable is the primary identity of Casval Rem Deikun, the son of the philosopher and leader Zeon Zum Deikun. After the assassination of his father and the subsequent rise of the Zabi family, Casval went into hiding, eventually assuming the name Char Aznable to infiltrate the Zeon military and dismantle his enemies from within.
His prowess as a pilot and his signature red-painted mobile suits earned him the terrifying moniker 'The Red Comet' during the One Year War. Throughout his career, Char has navigated the complexities of war under various aliases, including the AEUG pilot Quattro Bajeena and the supreme leader of Neo Zeon.
His motivations are driven by a mix of revolutionary zeal for 'spacenoid' independence and a deep-seated personal vendetta. In recent media such as the 2025 series 'Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX,' his character is explored through alternate timelines where he successfully seizes the RX-78-2 Gundam, further cementing his status as a master of technological and psychological warfare.

Evoluzione
Char Aznable’s character arc is defined by the loss of innocence and the adoption of multiple masks—both literal and metaphorical. In his youth (The Origin), he is a cold, calculating survivor willing to commit identity theft to achieve his goals. During the One Year War, he becomes the peak of martial excellence, hiding his eyes behind a visor.
His transition into Quattro Bajeena marks a brief attempt at altruism and mentorship, hoping to guide the next generation of Newtypes. However, the tragedy of the Gryps Conflict and the ongoing corruption of Earth's government lead to his final descent into extremism. By the time of Char’s Counterattack, he has become a nihilistic messiah figure. The 2025 alternate timeline GQuuuuuuX showcases a different evolution, where his early victory with the 'Red Gundam' creates a timeline of Zeon dominance.
Da Collezione
For collectors, Char Aznable is the most prestigious figure in the Gundam universe. The market is dominated by 'Red Comet' colored variants of every suit he has piloted. A major recent grail is the 'PG Unleashed MS-06S Char's Zaku II' (released February 2026), which features an unprecedented internal frame.
For action figure enthusiasts, the 'S.H.Figuarts Char Aznable (GQuuuuuuX version)' released in late 2025 is highly sought after for its detailed sculpt based on the new anime. High-end pieces like the Metal Structure Sazabi and premium Bandai hobby kits remain top-tier investments for serious collectors, consistently retaining value due to the character's enduring legacy.
In the GQuuuuuuX timeline, he successfully steals the original RX-78-2 Gundam and paints it red.
