CARNAGE
Carnage is one of Marvel Comics' most violent supervillains, created by the fusion of a red alien symbiote—the offspring of Venom—with the psychotic serial killer Cletus Kasady. Known for his unrestrained bloodlust and shape-shifting lethality, Carnage frequently forces Spider-Man and Venom to form uneasy alliances to contain his rampages.
Cronologia
Biografia

Carnage is a terrifying Marvel supervillain born from the symbiotic union of a red alien symbiote and Cletus Kasady, an unhinged Brooklyn serial killer. The symbiote itself is the 999th asexual spawn of Eddie Brock's Venom symbiote.
Unlike Venom, who adheres to a twisted vigilante moral code, Carnage represents pure, chaotic slaughter, famously daubing 'Carnage Rules' in blood across his murder scenes. Throughout his history, Carnage has been a apocalyptic threat to the Marvel Universe.
Overwhelmed by Carnage's sheer violence and enhanced symbiote strength, Spider-Man has repeatedly been forced to forge desperate truces with his arch-enemy Venom to bring Carnage down. Beyond Kasady, the symbiote has bonded with numerous high-profile hosts—including Ben Reilly, the Silver Surfer, Karl Malus, Norman Osborn, Eddie Brock, and Peter Parker—leaving a trail of chaos from New York City to deep space.
Storia

Cletus Kasady was introduced as a psychotic serial killer serving eleven consecutive life sentences at Ryker's Island prison, where he was placed in the same cell as Eddie Brock. When the Venom symbiote recovered and broke Brock out of prison, it left behind its newly spawned offspring.
The newborn symbiote latched onto Kasady, entering his body through a cut on his hand and merging directly with his bloodstream at a cellular level.
Transformed into a red-and-black creature, Kasady dubbed himself 'Carnage' and nicknamed his symbiote 'Red.' After bonding in prison for a month, the duo brutally murdered a prison guard and escaped to launch an extended killing spree across New York City. Created by writer David Michelinie and artist Mark Bagley, Kasady debuted in The Amazing Spider-Man #344 (1991), with Carnage making his full first appearance in issue #361 (1992).

Evoluzione
Carnage's character evolution spans decades of escalation in power and scale. Originating in the early 1990s as a street-level menace driven by Cletus Kasady's serial killer instincts, Carnage initially terrorized New York City in storylines like Maximum Carnage. Early on, the symbiote demonstrated a capacity for host-jumping, forming 'Spider-Carnage' with Ben Reilly and 'Carnage Cosmic' with the Silver Surfer. In the 2000s and 2010s, Carnage expanded into a global and multi-dimensional threat.
After surviving being ripped in half by the Sentry in space, he infected entire American towns (Carnage U.S.A.) and escaped into the Microverse (Minimum Carnage). He also bonded with new hosts, including Karl Malus ('Superior Carnage') and Norman Osborn ('Red Goblin'). In recent comic arcs, Carnage reached godlike power. Transforming into 'Dark Carnage' while serving the symbiote god Knull in Absolute Carnage, he collected host codices across Earth. In 2024–2026, Carnage drove events in Venom War, bonded directly with Eddie Brock (Eddie Brock: Carnage), and re-bonded with Peter Parker to revive Spider-Carnage in the 2026 Death Spiral event.
Da Collezione
Carnage holds a prominent position in retro video game media, building-brick collectibles, and digital gaming assets. The original 1994 16-bit video game Spider-Man and Venom: Maximum Carnage—famous for its red plastic cartridge on SNES and Genesis—and its 1995 sequel Separation Anxiety remain iconic physical retro releases.
In 2026, Limited Run Games and Konami announced the physical Marvel Maximum Collection, bundling these classic 16-bit games for modern consoles. In toy and digital spaces, Carnage is featured in block form through the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes video game franchise—including playable figures and the 'Carnom' hybrid—as well as a high-tier Battle Pass outfit in Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 8. Card collectors also prioritize Carnage in Marvel Snap, where he serves as a core card for Destroy decks.

In the 2026 comic story arc Death Spiral, Carnage re-bonded with Peter Parker to resurrect 'Spider-Carnage.'
