Cronologia
Biografia
Aveline de Grandpré is a Master Assassin of African and French descent who fought for liberation in Louisiana during the mid-to-late 18th century. Born in New Orleans in 1747, she was recruited into the Assassin Brotherhood in 1759 by Agaté after attempting to free an enslaved person.
Operating out of New Orleans, Aveline fought against both French and Spanish colonial oppression, using her social flexibility and extensive intelligence network to protect oppressed populations and expose Templar conspiracies.
Throughout her career, Aveline worked to dismantle a massive Templar slave-trading operation used to unearth ancient Isu artifacts. Her investigations brought her into contact with key figures across North America, including fellow Assassin Ratonhnhaké:ton (Connor Kenway), with whom she collaborated in New York and Rhode Island. Ultimately, she unmasked her own stepmother, Madeleine de L'Isle, as the Templar Grand Master of Louisiana, defeating her in 1777 to secure New Orleans for the Brotherhood.
Storia
Born on June 20, 1747, Aveline was the daughter of Philippe Olivier de Grandpré, a wealthy French merchant, and Jeanne, an African woman granted freedom through the plaçage system.
Raised in a caring environment protected by her father's influence within New Orleans, her early life changed in 1752 when Philippe married Madeleine de L'Isle to rescue his business.
Although Madeleine managed Aveline's education and acted as a doting stepmother, Jeanne mysteriously vanished in 1757, leaving Aveline with lasting trauma and recurring nightmares. Growing up amidst the stark social contrasts of New Orleans, Aveline's commitment to freedom solidified at age twelve in 1759. When she attempted to rescue an enslaved person from violent slavers, she was saved by Agaté, a runaway slave and Mentor of the Louisiana Assassin Brotherhood. Recognizing her unyielding dedication to justice, Agaté inducted Aveline and her childhood companion Gérald Blanc into the Order, training her to become the Brotherhood's primary operative in Louisiana.
I PEZZI DI AVELINE DE GRANDPRÉ
Evoluzione
Aveline de Grandpré's character arc represents a transformation from a traumatized child seeking answers about her mother to a decisive Master Assassin who commands her own destiny. Initially driven by the trauma of Jeanne's vanishing and the shock of witnessing slavery in New Orleans, Aveline joined the Brotherhood under Agaté's guidance. However, as she gained field experience, her political independence led her to question both the dogmatic views of her Mentor and the corrupt authority figures around her.
Her narrative evolution is defined by her mastery over identity. Rather than being constrained by the rigid social hierarchies of 18th-century Louisiana, she weaponized society's expectations through her distinct personas. Over time, Aveline transcended her Mentor's control, unmasked her stepmother as the Templar Grand Master, and took full leadership of Louisiana's Assassins. Within the broader franchise, she evolved from a handheld spin-off protagonist into a seminal icon of diversity and representation in gaming history.
