Cronologia
Biografia
Atriox is the Jiralhanae founder and supreme commander (Warmaster) of the Banished, a powerful mercenary faction that defied the Covenant Empire at the height of its power. Born on the Jiralhanae homeworld of Doisac in 2510, Atriox initially served as a Brute Stalker and member of the elite Bloodstars stealth hunting unit during the Human-Covenant War.
Forced into suicidal combat engagements by Sangheili commanders where entire 40-man squads were routinely wiped out, Atriox's unbelievable ability to survive birthed a deep hatred for the Covenant leadership's waste of Jiralhanae lives. Refusing to be executed for heresy following a victory at Algolis, Atriox slew his executioner and sparked an open rebellion.
Operating as a cold, calculating, and brilliant military strategist, he recruited disillusioned warriors across multiple alien species—including Elites, Grunts, Jackals, and human criminal enterprises. His campaigns eventually brought him to Installation 00 (the Ark) in 2559, where he battled the crew of the UNSC Spirit of Fire and personally contained a Flood outbreak originating from High Charity. Following the destruction of his homeworld Doisac by Cortana, Atriox's resolve to destroy Forerunner and Created superweapons hardened. He led a surprise attack against the flagship UNSC Infinity over Installation 07 (Zeta Halo), personally defeating Master Chief John-117 in single combat before unlocking a sealed vault containing the ancient Xalanyn (The Endless).
Storia
Born on May 28, 2510, on the Jiralhanae homeworld of Doisac, Atriox came of age under the rule of the Covenant Empire. Drafted into military service during the Human-Covenant War between 2525 and 2549, he served as a Brute Stalker and was inducted into the Bloodstars, an elite hunting unit commanded by Sangheili officers tasked with eliminating UNSC Spartans.
During his service, Covenant leadership routinely utilized Jiralhanae units as cannon fodder, sending them in 40-man shock squads into suicidal engagements under the promise of taking the Great Journey. Atriox was the sole survivor of every single suicidal deployment while all his clan brothers perished.
Realizing the pointless nature of the war against humanity and despising the Covenant leadership for butchering his kind, Atriox began voicing his defiance. This came to a head on the human colony of Algolis. After eliminating the UNSC garrison, Atriox voiced his hatred of the Covenant and slew a pious Brute in self-defense. Declared a heretic by a Sangheili Executioner, Atriox stayed the executioner's energy sword, strangled him with his bare hands, and rallied his fellow Brutes to slaughter the remaining guards, marking the birth of the Banished.
I PEZZI DI ATRIOX
Evoluzione
Atriox's character arc is defined by his transition from an exploited pawn of a religious empire to an unstoppable sovereign warlord. Starting as a low-ranking Brute Stalker sent into suicidal shock trooper engagements, his early motivations were pure self-preservation and disgust toward the High Prophets' false promises.
Upon his rebellion at Algolis, Atriox cast aside traditional Jiralhanae rage and species-based rivalries, building the Banished on pragmatism and welcoming former enemies like Sangheili and human criminal contacts. As the Halo narrative progressed from Halo Wars 2 to Halo Infinite, Atriox evolved from a regional mercenary leader into a galactic threat. The catastrophic destruction of his homeworld Doisac by Cortana fundamentally shifted his vision, hardening him into a anti-Forerunner radical determined to eradicate all superweapons and tyrant entities. By besting Master Chief in single combat and unsealing the Endless on Zeta Halo, Atriox established himself as one of the most formidable antagonists in the franchise.
