ANNA
Queen Anna of Arendelle is the optimistic, courageous, and deeply devoted co-protagonist of Disney's Frozen franchise. Born without magical powers, she relies on her inner strength, fearlessness, and the purity of her loving heart to overcome perilous trials, restore her kingdom, and protect her sister Elsa. Voiced primarily by Kristen Bell, Anna evolves from an isolated, impulsive princess into the rightful Queen of Arendelle.
Cronologia
Biografia

Anna is the courageous, optimistic, and free-spirited younger daughter of King Agnarr and Queen Iduna, and the younger sister of Elsa. Loosely inspired by Gerda from Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale The Snow Queen, Anna is characterized by her energetic, extroverted nature, though her long isolation within the castle gates leaves her initially socially awkward, impulsive, and overly trusting of strangers.
In the original film, when Elsa accidentally exposes her ice powers and retreats into exile, casting an eternal winter over Arendelle, Anna fearlessly sets off across the freezing wilderness to retrieve her sister. Joined by mountain man Kristoff, Sven the reindeer, and the magical snowman Olaf, Anna demonstrates that her strength lies in her unshakeable faith in her sister.
Ultimately, she saves both Elsa and the kingdom through an act of true love by sacrificing herself to break her own frozen heart curse. Following her adventures in Frozen, Anna continues to stand at the heart of Arendelle's leadership. In Frozen II, she journeys into the mysterious Enchanted Forest to uncover the origin of Elsa's magic and protect her homeland from destruction. After Elsa steps down to serve as the Fifth Spirit of Nature, Anna ascends the throne as the crowned Queen of Arendelle and accepts Kristoff's marriage proposal.
Storia

During her early childhood, five-year-old Anna and her eight-year-old sister Elsa were inseparable, spending their nights creating indoor snowy wonderlands using Elsa's magic. However, during one late-night playdate in the castle ballroom, Elsa accidentally struck Anna in the head with ice magic.
King Agnarr and Queen Iduna rushed the unconscious Anna to the Valley of the Living Rock, where Grand Pabbie healed her by removing all memories of magic, leaving behind only a platinum-blonde streak in her ginger hair. To keep Elsa's powers secret and safe, the King closed the castle gates and separated the sisters.
Ignorant of the reason for her sudden isolation, Anna spent years fruitlessly knocking on Elsa's door and talking to castle paintings to cope with her loneliness. When their parents perished at sea during a storm, the sisters were forced to mourn alone. Anna remained isolated until she turned 18, when Elsa's coronation day finally opened the castle gates to the public for the first time in years.
I PEZZI DI ANNA
Evoluzione
During early production of Frozen, Anna was originally envisioned as a non-royal peasant on a quest to ask an evil Snow Queen to unfreeze her heart. When the creative team decided to make Anna and Elsa sisters, Anna became a princess and Elsa was transformed into a misunderstood heroine. Anna's initial design also featured platinum blonde hair (later changed to light red/ginger) and a timid attitude in early test animations.
Supervising animator Becky Bresee drew heavy inspiration from voice actress Kristen Bell, incorporating Bell's real-life awkwardness, fast-talking rhythm, and facial expressions into Anna's character. Narratively, Anna begins as an isolated, romance-starved teenager eager to connect with anyone, leading her to rush blindly into an engagement with Prince Hans. As her journey unfolds, she learns the true nature of love through self-sacrifice rather than superficial romance. By Frozen II, she evolves from an overly protective younger sister into an authoritative, wise leader capable of making hard decisions, ultimately ascending the throne as Queen of Arendelle.
Da Collezione
In the world of Disney collectibles and gaming figures, Anna has maintained a continuous presence since her 2013 debut. Her initial physical figure rollout was led by the interactive interactive figure for Disney Infinity (2013), making her a popular collectible during the toys-to-life era.
Digital and action collectors have also seen specialized redesigns, such as the combat-oriented "Ward of Arendelle" Guardian version in Disney Mirrorverse (2022), which depicts Anna wielding a giant broadsword. Furthermore, her presence in theme park collectible experiences—such as the advanced audio-animatronics in Hong Kong Disneyland's World of Frozen (2023) and Tokyo DisneySea's Fantasy Springs (2024)—underlines her ongoing high demand among Disney memorabilia enthusiasts.

Anna's original platinum-blonde hair streak disappeared completely once the frozen heart curse was broken by an act of true love.
