Luchadores Hulk

El Furioso represents the Hulk's official entry into Mexican lucha libre, created as part of the Marvel Lucha Libre Edition partnership between Marvel Entertainment and Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide in October 2020. The character made his physical ring debut at AAA's TripleManía XXIX in August 2021, portrayed in real life by professional wrestler El Dragón. In ring lore and storytelling, El Furioso acts as a heavy-hitting técnico (heroic wrestler) fighting alongside heroes like Leyenda Americana. His arc culminated in the 2023 Disney+ mockumentary series Marvel Lucha Libre Edition: El origen de la máscara, where he battles against rudo wrestlers empowered by an illegal performance enhancer known as 'El Simbionte'.

This appearance represents a major cultural crossover between American comic book icons and traditional Mexican wrestling heritage. By establishing a dedicated persona in AAA lore, Marvel expanded its regional footprint in Latin America through live sports entertainment, action figure lines, board games, and television. El Furioso demonstrates how comic book archetypes can be re-contextualized within local cultural traditions while maintaining core character traits.

El Furioso's visual design merges the Hulk's signature color palette with traditional luchador mask and ring attire. The look centers on a vibrant green-and-purple wrestling mask featuring open eyelets and pronounced facial contours. The rest of his ring gear includes wrestling tights, heavy boots, and wrist wraps decorated in classic Hulk green and purple, tailored to emulate traditional Mexican professional wrestling gear.
