The Bride of Frankenstein (also known as The Bride or The Monster's Mate) is an iconic Universal Monsters horror character originally conceived in Mary Shelley's 1818 novel Frankenstein. Immortalized on screen by Elsa Lanchester in the 1935 classic film Bride of Frankenstein, she is famous for her lifted black beehive hairstyle with lightning streaks, white surgical shrouds, and her dramatic rejection of Frankenstein's Monster.
