RED HOOD
Red Hood is the identity of Jason Todd, the second Robin who was resurrected after a brutal death to become DC Comics' most famous anti-hero. Combining lethal combat skills with a complex moral code, he bridges the gap between the Bat-Family and the criminal underworld.
Cronologia
Biografia

Jason Todd is a central figure in the Gotham mythos, primarily known as the second person to take up the mantle of Robin. Originally a street orphan who was taken in by Bruce Wayne after trying to steal the tires off the Batmobile, Jason’s life was defined by tragedy when he was murdered by the Joker. However, death was not the end.
Resurrected via the Lazarus Pit and trained by the All-Caste and the League of Assassins, he returned to Gotham with a new identity: the Red Hood. Unlike Batman, Jason is often willing to use lethal force, viewing himself as a necessary evil to truly control crime rather than just fight it.
Throughout his history, Jason has shifted between being a vengeful antagonist, a leader of rogue teams like the Outlaws, and a tentative ally to the Bat-Family. He represents the ultimate failure of Batman's mission—a son lost and returned as a reflection of the violence the Dark Knight seeks to stop. Whether leading a squad of zombies in 'Task Force Z' or protecting the neighborhood of The Hill, Jason remains a fan-favorite 'black sheep' who constantly challenges the traditional definitions of heroism.
Storia

Jason's origins are rooted in the grit of Gotham's Park Row. Raised by a drug-addicted mother and a criminal father who taught him the 'ropes of thievery,' Jason was forced to survive on his own from a young age. His life changed forever when he encountered Batman in an alley. Impressed by the boy's fearlessness and skill, Batman attempted to rehabilitate him at Ma Gunn's School for Wayward Boys.
When that failed due to the school’s criminal ties, Bruce took Jason in personally, training him for six months to become the new Boy Wonder. The tragedy of Jason Todd peaked during the 'Death in the Family' event. Driven by a desperate search for his birth mother in the Middle East, Jason was lured into a trap set by the Joker.
The Clown Prince of Crime brutally beat him with a crowbar and left him to die in an explosion. It would be years before he resurfaced, his mind and body restored by Talia al Ghul. He emerged from the Lazarus Pit with a shattered psyche and a burning desire for revenge against both the Joker for his death and Batman for allowing him to go unavenged. This return marked the birth of the modern Red Hood, a vigilante who seized control of Gotham’s drug trade to dismantle it from the inside.
Evoluzione
Jason Todd has undergone one of the most drastic character arcs in comic book history. He began as a 'street kid' replacement for the polished Dick Grayson, but fan reception was initially polarized, leading to his voted-on death in 1988. After nearly two decades as a symbol of failure, his return in 2005 reimagined him as a lethal anti-hero, creating a permanent ideological foil for Batman.
In the New 52 and Rebirth eras, Jason softened from a villain into a team leader, finding kinship with other outcasts. His recent evolution sees him distancing himself from his lethal roots; in 'Gotham Knights' and modern comics like 'Red Hood: The Hill', he has adopted non-lethal weaponry and even abandoned his iconic guns for a crowbar and katana, attempting to prove he can protect Gotham without crossing Batman's ultimate line.
Da Collezione
For collectors, Red Hood is a 'grail' character across multiple styles. Figures based on his 'Arkham Knight' appearance are among the most sought-after due to the high-tech, armored design. High-end brands like Hot Toys and Iron Studios have produced premium statues that capture his 'Under the Hood' comic look.
McFarlane Toys has also released numerous iterations, from his classic leather jacket vigilante outfit to the mystical 'Soul-Infused' version from 'Gotham Knights'. The upcoming 'Dynamic Duo' film is expected to spark a new wave of interest in his early 'Robin' and 'street orphan' personas, making older DC Direct figures potentially more valuable as historical pieces of his legacy.

The 2025 mature-rated Red Hood comic series was cancelled by DC immediately after its first issue.
