DEATHSTORM
Deathstorm is a formidable supervillain in DC Comics who serves as the dark, inverted counterpart to the superhero Firestorm. Originating as a sentient entity born from Black Lantern energy and the Firestorm Matrix, the character has also existed across the DC Multiverse as the twisted Earth-3 mad scientist Professor Martin Stein and an Earth-Prime necrokinetic cosmic threat.
Cronologia
Biografia

Deathstorm is a terrifying supervillain in DC Comics created as an evil counterpart to Firestorm the Nuclear Man.
Across DC's multiverse, the identity primarily belongs to two distinct entities: the sentient cosmic nightmare born from Black Lantern energy combined with the Firestorm Matrix on New Earth, and Professor Martin Stein, a sinister mad scientist who fused with a corpse on Earth-3 as a member of the Crime Syndicate of America.
During the events of Brightest Day, Deathstorm emerged after Ronnie Raymond was resurrected. Residual Black Lantern energy remained dormant within the Firestorm Matrix, manifesting as a third mocking voice alongside Ronnie and Jason Rusch. Upon violently separating the two hosts, Deathstorm revealed his ultimate goal: to cause a massive disturbance within the Firestorm Matrix—which functions as a second Big Bang—and trigger a universe-destroying extinction event. Deathstorm's reach extends beyond comic books into multiversal adaptations. On screen, he appeared in CW's The Flash as both an Earth-2 villain suppressing Martin Stein's mind and an Earth-Prime necrokinetic grief entity, cementing his status as one of DC's most deadly cosmic and elemental threats.
Storia

The character first appeared as Black Lantern Firestorm in Blackest Night #2 (September 2009), created when a Black Power Ring reanimated the corpse of Ronnie Raymond. During the event, Black Lantern Firestorm attacked Jason Rusch and his girlfriend Gehenna, forcibly fusing with Jason and murdering Gehenna by transmuting her tissue into table salt.
Following Blackest Night, Ronnie Raymond was restored to life, but lingering Black Lantern energy remained trapped inside the Firestorm Matrix. In Brightest Day #10 (November 2010), created by Geoff Johns, Peter Tomasi, and Ethan Van Sciver, the entity officially christened itself 'Deathstorm'.
It emerged from Firestorm's chest, absorbed Professor Martin Stein and Alvin Rusch, and attempted to destabilize the Matrix to erase all existence. Deathstorm was ultimately destroyed by the White Lantern's Life Entity in Brightest Day #24 (2011). In the New 52 reboot (2013), a distinct version of Deathstorm debuted in Justice League (vol. 2) #23 as Earth-3's Professor Martin Stein. This evil scientist experimented on himself and corpses to harness the Firestorm Matrix before joining the Crime Syndicate of America. During Forever Evil, Earth-3 Deathstorm invaded Prime Earth before being killed by Alexander Luthor (Mazahs).
I PEZZI DI DEATHSTORM
Evoluzione
Deathstorm's evolution reflects DC Comics' shifting multiversal storytelling. Initially introduced in 2009 during Blackest Night as a mindless Black Lantern version of Firestorm, creators Geoff Johns, Peter Tomasi, and Ethan Van Sciver evolved him in 2010's Brightest Day into a distinct, self-aware cosmic parasite born from residual ring energy trapped in the Firestorm Matrix. With DC's New 52 reboot in 2013, the character underwent a total re-imagining for Trinity War and Forever Evil.
Instead of an undead entity, Deathstorm became the Earth-3 Crime Syndicate counterpart to Firestorm—a sadistic Professor Martin Stein who experimented on human corpses to gain atomic powers. In television adaptations, CW's The Flash adapted both interpretations: Season 2 (2016) featured an Earth-2 dark Ronnie Raymond, while Season 8 (2022) reimagined Deathstorm as an Earth-Prime necrokinetic entity born from black grief flames. Following DC's Infinite Frontier (2021) and major events like Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths (2022) and Absolute Power (2024), Deathstorm remains a recurring figure in Crime Syndicate lore and multiversal crossovers.
Da Collezione
For comic and action figure collectors, Deathstorm represents an appealing niche within DC's cosmic and dark multiversal rosters. The definitive figure for the character arrived in 2022 when McFarlane Toys released a 7-inch Deathstorm action figure as part of their DC Multiverse line.
Sculpted with high detail after his undead Blackest Night appearance, this figure was included in the Atrocitus Build-A-Figure wave, making it a sought-after piece for collectors completing the lantern-themed construct. Digital collectors and gamers also have options to acquire Deathstorm across media. In DC Universe Online, the 2017 Notorious Time Capsule update introduced rare Deathstorm-inspired cosmetics like the 'Umbral Storm Aura' and 'Shadow of Death' collections. Furthermore, physical video game collectors can unlock and play as Deathstorm in LEGO DC Super-Villains and Scribblenauts Unmasked.

Actor Robbie Amell portrayed two completely different versions of Deathstorm on CW's The Flash: Earth-2's fused Ronnie Raymond in Season 2 and Earth-Prime's necrokinetic entity in Season 8.
