Storia
Scott's origins stem from a tragic plane crash during his childhood that separated him from his brother, Alex.
Believed to be an orphan, Scott was placed in an orphanage in Nebraska that was secretly run by the geneticist Mister Sinister, who targeted and monitored Scott's development.
When Scott's mutant power manifested in the form of uncontrolled energy beams emitting from his eyes, Professor Charles Xavier stepped in to mentor him. Xavier developed a specialized ruby-quartz visor to help Scott control his power. Adopting the name Cyclops, Scott became Xavier's first official X-Man and the field commander for the original team.

Evoluzione
Cyclops has undergone one of the most substantial character evolutions in comic book history. Originating in the Silver Age as a reserved, stoic field commander dedicated to Professor Xavier's dream of peaceful coexistence, his character gradually hardened through decades of personal tragedy, including the loss of Jean Grey during the Dark Phoenix Saga and the forced separation from his son, Cable. By the 2000s, Scott transitioned from a tactical field soldier into the undisputed leader of the entire mutant race.
Partnering with Emma Frost, he established a sovereign mutant sanctuary on Utopia following House of M, adopting a pragmatic and uncompromising leadership strategy to prevent mutant extinction. This evolution culminated in Avengers vs. X-Men, where he was possessed by the Phoenix Force, killed Charles Xavier, and was declared a revolutionary icon ("Cyclops Was Right"). Following his death and resurrection, Scott served as Captain Commander during the Krakoan Era before forming a proactive team in Alaska during the "From the Ashes" era.
Curiosità
* Scott Summers' optic blasts are not thermal heat beams, but concussive force projected from portals to a pocket universe of ruby-quartz energy.
* Mister Sinister secretly monitored and manipulated Scott's childhood while managing the orphanage where Scott was raised. * To save his infant son Nathan from a lethal Techno-Organic Virus, Scott had to send him into the 39th century, where Nathan grew up to become Cable. * While empowered by the Phoenix Force during Avengers vs. X-Men, Cyclops killed his mentor, Charles Xavier.
