VIPER PREDATOR
Viper Predator is the lethal leader of the Serpent Clan, a renowned Yautja mercenary group. Distinguished by his high-tech armor and role as a pilot, he bridges the gap between traditional hunting and professional military-contracting within Predator culture.
Cronologia
Biografia
Viper Predator is the brutal and highly efficient leader of the Serpent Clan, arguably the deadliest mercenary group in Yautja history.
Unlike many of his kin who hunt primarily for honor or ritual, Viper is a professional who operates on a contractual basis, specializing in Xenomorph extermination and high-stakes Clan wars.
He is known for his unwavering reliability, carrying a reputation for always finishing the job, regardless of the cost or complexity. Outside of active contracts, Viper is a relentless technological scavenger. He hunts individuals possessing advanced technology and rare trophies to bolster his arsenal or use as bartering chips for future missions. His standing in Yautja society is complex; he is a mercenary who maintains professional relationships with high-ranking figures like Elder Cracked Tusk and even assists the Enforcers in hunting down 'Bad Blood' criminals in exchange for legal immunity for his own past transgressions.
Storia
Viper's history is deeply intertwined with the hierarchy of the Lost Tribe. He is the younger brother of Snake, the Predator affiliated with Elder Greyback and the 1997 Los Angeles hunting party.
Viper carved his own path as a specialist, eventually being recruited by the Enforcers to test the 'Ambush Predator Armor.' This prototype suit was designed to provide a continuous cloaking shield by drawing directly from the wearer's life energy.
While most users suffered discoloration and near-death exhaustion from the suit's drain, Viper’s unique physiology allowed him to master it. After successfully using the armor to suppress a massive riot, he was granted permanent ownership of the prototype, which he now reserves for only the most critical combat scenarios.
Evoluzione
Viper Predator represents a significant evolution in the franchise's approach to secondary characters. He began as a 'Kenner Tribute'—a modern reimagining of a 1993 mail-away toy. However, through NECA's expanded biographies, he evolved from a mere color variant into a pivotal lore figure that defines the 'Mercenary' sub-culture of the Yautja.
By bridging his backstory with the events of Predator 2 (via his brother Snake), he was integrated into the cinematic canon. Most recently, the shift in the franchise toward exploring different Yautja hierarchies, as seen in the 2025 media slate, highlights Viper's importance as the archetype for the high-tech, non-traditional clan leader.
Da Collezione
For collectors, Viper is a NECA cornerstone. The original Series 12 figure is highly sought after for its unique red-and-black deco and pilot-specific gear.
However, the 'grail' for many is the 2015 SDCC/Convention Exclusive Ambush Predator, which features clear/translucent plastic to represent his prototype cloaking armor. As of 2026, rumor of an 'Ultimate' edition persists, which would offer updated articulation. Collectors also look for the Blade Fighter vehicle, as Viper is officially designated as its pilot, making them an essential duo for a complete display.
