The Vinyl Soda Chase Variant of Mer-Man from Masters of the Universe is a rare collectible vinyl figure manufactured by Funko as part of its Vinyl SODA line. Standing 4.25 inches tall inside a stylized tin soda can, this variant replaces the character's standard green-and-yellow look with an animated blue color scheme at a 1-in-6 distribution ratio.
La Scena
As a stylized vinyl figure collectible, the Mer-Man Vinyl SODA Chase Variant represents the character's alternative classic blue animated appearance from Masters of the Universe media and toy variants. Rather than capturing a single narrative film frame, this figure depicts the aquatic villain in his animated blue color scheme, presented as a 4.25-inch vinyl collectible packaged inside a stylized tin soda can accompanied by a POG-style collector card.
Significato
This figure holds significance in the Masters of the Universe Funko lineup as a chase variant within the Vinyl SODA product line introduced in January 2020. Produced within a total limited run of 7,000 cans, the Chase Variant gave collectors a 1-in-6 chance—scaled to roughly 1,200 total pieces—to pull the blue variant over the common green-and-yellow release. Its place in Funko history was solidified when the figure eventually retired into Funko's official 'From the Vault' archive status.
Design
The design of the Vinyl SODA Chase Variant alters Mer-Man's traditional look by executing his sculpt in an Animated Blue color scheme instead of the vintage green-and-yellow colorway of the common SODA figure. Formatted at 4.25 inches in height, the figure features detailed armor and aesthetic accents tailored to the character's alternate blue appearance and comes sealed in a collectible soda tin paired with a matching POG-style card.
