MaterialePlasticMaterialePlasticThe mysterious enigmatic of Gotham is revealed in a new and precious version: the 6-inch figure of The Riddler in the Red Platinum variant. Part of the first wave of the DC Retro Super Friends line from McFarlane Toys, this piece represents an exclusive opportunity for collectors looking to complete their collection with one of the most iconic characters in the DC universe, reinterpreted with a distinctive visual style and a higher level of rarity.
The Scene
This edition captures the iconic essence of the character as appeared in the historic animated series Super Friends (1973) by Hanna-Barbera. The figure faithfully reproduces the distinctive look of the era: the green suit with the iconic purple question marks, gloves, boots and the domino mask, bringing the collector straight to the heart of classic animation.
The Character
Edward Nigma, known as The Riddler, is not just a simple antagonist: he is the embodiment of intellectual deceit in the Batman world. Born as one of the oldest and most cerebral enemies of the Dark Knight, his narrative arc revolves around an obsessive pathology: the visceral need to prove one's mental superiority. He does not act for power or revenge, but for the pure pleasure of challenging others' logic through complex riddles, deadly puzzles, and elaborate traps. In the Super Friends saga, his role expands: he becomes the genius mind that challenges not only Batman, but the entire team of heroes, turning every clash into a duel of intellects where brute force matters nothing. He is the villain who forces heroes to think before acting, making him a fundamental pillar of the villain gallery and an eternal symbol of the conflict between ingenuity and justice.
Why Collect It
For those who know the market value, the 'Excl.' code is not a detail: it is the promise of a limited run that, over time, turns into a cabinet piece. This Red Platinum variant is not just a different color, but a statement of intent for true enthusiasts of the DC Retro Super Friends line. Unlike standard editions, here rarity is inherent in the design itself, making each specimen a small treasure to cherish. Positioned alongside your favorite heroes, this figure not only takes up space on the shelf: it elevates the entire collection, combining the pure nostalgia of the 70s comics with the thrill of hunting for the exclusive piece. It's the type of item that, once found, you never want to resell: it's your trophy, your proof of eye and passion for the McFarlane world.
