Mattel Mega Construx Despicable Me 3 Speedboat Escape Set

Get ready to experience the adrenaline of the most iconic escape from Despicable Me 3 with this buildable Mega Construx set. Action unfolds aboard the Speedboat, where Gru and his allies face a breathtaking chase on the water. An unmissable opportunity for collectors to capture a key moment of the saga in a dynamic and engaging building experience.

The set captures the exact moment when a Minion, piloting Balthazar Bratt’s violet and white Speedboat, launches into a dramatic escape. The scene, taken directly from the film Despicable Me 3 (2017), features the stolen large ruby the character carries, faithfully recreating the adrenaline and dynamics of the water chase that marked the saga.

For the first time, legendary Felonious Gru confronts the eccentric Balthazar Bratt, the antagonist of Despicable Me 3 (2017). Gru, now an ex-supervillain and elite agent of the Anti-Villain League (AVL), must test his intelligence and high-tech arsenal to thwart Bratt’s escape, determined to seize the valuable Dumont Diamond. This dynamic is more than a chase: it represents the film’s core conflict, where Gru’s advanced technology clashes with Bratt’s 80s chaos. The set captures the essence of this rivalry, allowing collectors to relive the cinematic opening’s tension through building vehicles and micro-figures.

Indeed, there is a reason why Mega Construx buildable sets are becoming cult items among today’s collectors: their ability to turn nostalgia into a tactile, layered experience. This set is more than a toy; it’s a piece of modern animation history framed in a design that celebrates the visual boldness of Despicable Me 3. The Mega Construx line, with its block-based approach evoking the industry’s most iconic aesthetics, offers aesthetic value that transcends simple construction, positioning itself as a display piece capable of conversing with the most meticulously crafted figurines in your collection. In a crowded market, choosing a set that captures a moment of pure cinematic chaos—with the chromatic contrast between the electric violet Speedboat and the characters’ more subdued tones—guarantees an immediate visual impact. Owning this piece means not just recreating a scene, but preserving a fragment of pop-culture imagery that defined a generation, an investment in uniqueness that rewards those who recognize the value of dynamic representation in miniature scale. It’s the kind of item that, once placed, becomes the centerpiece of the display: a bridge between childhood play and the art of collecting.
