- Funko POP! Figurine in vinile
Deadpool steps into the arena with the unmistakable style of Lucha Libre, captured in a Funko POP! Marvel edition. The exaggerated character design meets the iconic Pop silhouette, transforming the most talkative mercenary in the Marvel universe into a statement of intent for every collection.
The Scene
This figure captures Deadpool in the role of El Chimichanga de la Muerte, an interpretation that transforms the anti-hero into a traditional Mexican luchador. The appearance is part of the Marvel Lucha Libre Edition (2021), a dedicated line that reimagines Marvel characters through the iconic lens of masked wrestling, offering a unique and distinctive visual scene compared to the usual representations of the character.
The Character
Born as Wade Wilson in the pages of The New Mutants #98 (1991), the 'Merc with a Mouth' redefined the anti-hero concept in the Marvel pantheon. Thanks to his accelerated regeneration factor, a result of Weapon X experiments, and his unique ability to break the fourth wall, Deadpool is not merely a character, but a narrative phenomenon that challenges comic conventions. This Lucha Libre variant goes beyond a simple costume change: it celebrates his chaotic and unpredictable nature, transposing his razor‑sharp humor into the Mexican wrestling arena. For collectors, it represents the perfect cross‑breed between marginal pop iconography and mainstream Marvel, turning a classic into a display piece that captures the character’s essence through an entirely new cultural lens.
Why Collect It
Adding this release to your collection means celebrating Deadpool’s ability to cross genres and cultures without ever losing his irreverent spirit. The Lucha Libre crossover isn’t just a costume change; it’s a statement of intent for those seeking pieces that tell stories beyond the simple cinematic canon. It’s the kind of figure that attracts attention not for its extreme rarity, but for its visual audacity: a small, unmistakable point of interest that elevates the entire display, turning a simple showcase into a gallery of iconic, surprising moments.
