- Batman Red Rain
The Red Rain Batman (1991) (#321) enters the Funko POP! Heroes collection with an immediate visual energy: the red cape and dark atmosphere capture the essence of 90s noir in just 9.5 cm of vinyl. It's not just another hero in pose, but a historical piece that brings the visual identity of the animated series directly onto the shelf, ready to dominate the display with that touch of pure nostalgia.
The Scene
This figure captures the moment when the Dark Knight transforms into a vampire, set in the alternate universe of Batman: Red Rain. The scene portrays him confronting Dracula and his brood, a dark and gothic interpretation of the character that deeply resonates with the spirit of the Elseworlds series.
The Character
In Elseworlds mythology, this Batman is not just a vigilante, but tangible proof of Bruce Wayne's ultimate sacrifice. In the story Batman & Dracula: Red Rain by Doug Moench and Kelley Jones, the Dark Knight accepts a fatal bite to gain the strength needed to save Gotham from the claws of Count Dracula. This definitive choice transforms him into an immortal creature, permanently erasing his human soul. Establishing the alternate Earth-43 universe, this story remains one of the darkest and most visually iconic chapters of DC Comics, making this figure an essential piece for collectors of the darkest variants of Batman's 80th anniversary.
Why Collect It
Closing the Heroes collection with #321 means securing a piece that transcends the simple vinyl figure. Red Rain is not just a spin-off, but a pillar of Elseworlds narrative that redefined the character's boundaries, making this variant an essential benchmark for those seeking depth beyond mere aesthetics.
The red cape, symbol of blood and transformation, creates a powerful visual contrast that stands out immediately against classic blue and black, giving the display a dramatic and cinematic energy. Owning this Pop means celebrating Batman's versatility and Funko's ability to capture the most iconic and transgressive moments of the comic, turning an alternate story into a cult object to proudly display.
