Li Shang arrives in vinyl with Pop! #321 from the Disney line, ready to defend the kingdom's honor with a proud gaze and iconic armor. An icon of Mulan that turns heroism into a collectible, perfect for those seeking the pure essence of animated cinema in a 9.5 cm figure.
The Scene
The figure captures Li Shang in his role as captain of the imperial army, exactly as he appears throughout the entire narrative arc of Mulan (1998). He wears his iconic standard military armor and wields a sword, recreating the image of the determined leader who leads Mulan's team in battles against the Huns. This faithful rendering to the film's original design allows you to relive the most intense action sequences of classic Disney animation right on your collection shelf.
The Character
Why is Li Shang essential? He's not just the captain who turns lazy recruits into warriors; he's the emotional and narrative heart of the film. A son of a general and class topper, his authority stems from personal ambition that clashes with duty and honor. His narrative arc is essential to the story: without his dedication and tactical skills, the defense against the Huns' invasion would not have carried the same weight. He embodies the ideal of imperial command, a pillar of the Disney Renaissance that completes the trinity with Mulan and Mushu, making him a key figure for collectors of 90s classics.
Why Collect It
Owning Pop! #321 means holding a vital piece of Disney animation history: it's not just a figure, but a symbol of a golden cinematic era that has captured generations. Funko's Disney line is the beating heart of every collection, and Li Shang, with his determined stance and faithful 1998 design, is one of those characters that add value and completeness to the series.
