Cronologia
Panoramica

The Magical Creatures collection is an official line of detailed, hand-painted collectible figures produced by The Noble Collection.
First introduced to fans in 2016 to coincide with the theatrical release of the film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the product line rapidly expanded to showcase creatures, entities, and beings from across both the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts film series.
Each figure in the line is crafted using a distinctive three-part diorama architecture, featuring a detailed, hand-painted resin sculpture, a specialized themed display base, and a protective clear acrylic display case equipped with a custom background graphic. Standing at approximately 7 inches (18 cm) high, these items are designed for modular display, giving collectors the choice to keep figures safely protected inside their enclosed display cases or to remove the sculptures from their bases for standalone desktop presentation. Beyond the primary Wizarding World releases, the signature display style has also been extended into other popular entertainment licenses.
Storia

The Magical Creatures product line was officially launched in 2016 by The Noble Collection to accompany the debut of the movie Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The line initially debuted with creatures featured in Newt Scamander's adventures, starting with the Niffler, Bowtruckle, Fwooper, Demiguise, Occamy, and Thunderbird across six numbered releases.
Simultaneously, the line established its core Harry Potter collection, expanding chronologically through eighteen numbered creature releases including Hedwig, Dobby, the Basilisk, Hungarian Horntail, Fawkes, and the Grindylow.
Drawing inspiration from canonical Wizarding World media that spans the original book series starting in 1997, the eight feature films (2001–2011), and the Fantastic Beasts prequel trilogy (2016–2022), the line captures iconic magical beasts across the saga. Due to the popular reception of the cased-diorama format, The Noble Collection subsequently expanded the product line format into other major franchises, releasing diorama figures for Jurassic Park (including the T-Rex, Dilophosaurus, and Velociraptor) and The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit (including Sauron and Smaug).

Collezionismo
Collecting The Noble Collection's Magical Creatures line offers fans a standardized way to build a comprehensive display of Wizarding World entities. With every release sharing the exact same 7-inch acrylic case height and modular diorama setup, the figures create a uniform aesthetic when lined up on shelves. The acrylic display case protects the hand-painted resin sculptures from dust, preserving their condition over long-term display.
As of late 2026, the primary checklist—consisting of eighteen Harry Potter releases (#1 Hedwig through #18 Grindylow) and six Fantastic Beasts releases (#1 Niffler through #6 Thunderbird)—remains available as evergreen items in The Noble Collection's catalog. In addition to the standard dioramas, the line's success has inspired complementary collectibles such as Patronus plush figures, blind-box Toyllectible Treasures, and anniversary sets. Secondary market interest remains steady for complete sets and specific iconic creatures, while the format's extension into Jurassic Park and Lord of the Rings offers multi-franchise crossover potential for diorama collectors.
Curiosità
• The signature 7-inch cased diorama format created for Magical Creatures was later reused by The Noble Collection for Jurassic Park and The Lord of the Rings figures.
• Every resin creature in the collection can be completely detached from its base and acrylic housing for un-cased display. • The Fantastic Beasts subset kicked off in 2016 with the Niffler designated as entry No. 1.
