Biografia

Anna Marie LeBeau, known simply as Rogue, is a Southern mutant who stands as a core figure and field commander within Marvel's X-Men. Raised in Caldecott County, Mississippi, Rogue possesses the tactile ability to absorb the physical strength, neural memories, and mutant powers of anyone she touches.

Because unshielded contact can temporarily drain or permanently harm others, Rogue spent much of her life unable to physically touch another human being without devastating consequences. Initially taken in by Mystique and Destiny, Rogue was trained as a villain within the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants.

However, after a tragic encounter with Ms. Marvel (Carol Danvers) left Rogue with permanently absorbed powers and a fractured psyche, she turned to Professor Charles Xavier for help. Joining the X-Men, Rogue overcame initial hostility from her teammates, eventually proving her heroism, leading various X-Men squads, and even serving on the Avengers Unity Squad.

LO SAPEVI?Rogue's powers manifested during her very first kiss with Cody Robbins, putting him into a permanent coma.

Storia

Rogue's mutant ability manifested during her teenage years in Mississippi when she shared her first kiss with a boy named Cody Robbins. The uncontrolled contact drained Cody's life force and memories, leaving him in a permanent coma.

Distraught and terrified, Anna Marie ran away from home and was taken in by Mystique (Raven Darkhölme) and Destiny (Irene Adler), who adopted her and brought her into the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants.

During her time with the Brotherhood, Rogue clashed with Earth's heroes, culminating in a fateful fight against Ms. Marvel (Carol Danvers). Rogue held on to Danvers for too long, permanently absorbing her flight, invulnerability, super-strength, and personality. Distressed by Danvers' consciousness fighting for control inside her mind, Rogue sought out Professor Xavier in Uncanny X-Men #171, seeking asylum and mastery over her abilities.

LO SAPEVI?In the Age of Apocalypse timeline, Rogue was married to Magneto and had a son named Charles.

Poteri & Abilità

• Tactile Energy Absorption: Drains nascent biological energy, life force, neural data, and memories from individuals via direct unshielded physical contact. • Superpower Absorption: Temporarily acquires the superhuman abilities and skillsets of target individuals, with power level determined by contact duration. • Permanent Flight and Super-Strength: Retained Carol Danvers' (Ms.

Marvel) powers for years, granting super-strength, near-invulnerability, flight, and a seventh-sense danger reaction. • Ionic Energy Absorption: Permanently absorbed ionic energy abilities from Wonder Man during her tenure with the Avengers Unity Squad. • Power Mastery: Developed full conscious control over her powers in X-Men: Legacy, allowing safe physical touch and selective ability absorption. • Protective Gloves: Uses gloves as standard equipment to prevent accidental power absorption during daily interactions.

LO SAPEVI?Voice actress Lenore Zann returned to voice Rogue in X-Men '97 32 years after her debut in the 1992 animated series.

Evoluzione

Initially portrayed as an isolated Mississippi runaway manipulated by Mystique's Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, Rogue joined the X-Men out of desperation to control the conflicting psyche of Carol Danvers within her mind. Her journey from a deeply distrusted ex-villain to a core X-Man highlighted her resilience and dedication to Charles Xavier's vision.

Over the decades, Rogue's control over her abilities evolved significantly. In Mike Carey's X-Men: Legacy run, she finally achieved full conscious mastery over her touch, allowing her to make physical contact without absorbing someone's life force against her will. Beyond mutant affairs, Rogue's leadership expanded to Earth's Mightiest Heroes when she led the Avengers Unity Squad in Uncanny Avengers. In the 2024 'From the Ashes' comic line by Gail Simone, Rogue operates out of New Orleans as the primary leader of the Uncanny X-Men.
