Cronologia
Biografia
Pikachu is the flagship character of the Pokémon franchise and the primary battle partner of trainer Ash Ketchum. Friendly, curious, intelligent, and fiercely determined, Pikachu serves as a natural leader among Ash's Pokémon team.
Despite his small stature, he possesses immense battle strength and a deep passion for competition, standing by Ash through every regional league and tournament across their 25-year journey. Throughout his adventures, Pikachu refuses to stay inside his Poké Ball, preferring to travel riding on Ash's head or shoulder.
Known for his responsible nature, Pikachu frequently acts as a guardian for younger Pokémon like Togepi and stops squabbles among teammates. His formidable strength and close bond with Ash also make him a constant target for Team Rocket, whose capture schemes are routinely thwarted by Pikachu's electric attacks. Over the course of nine generation eras, Pikachu competed across every major region—from Kanto to Galar—culminating in Ash and Pikachu winning the Masters Eight Tournament in Pokémon Journeys to become World Monarchs before stepping down from their central anime role in 2023.
Storia
Before becoming Ash Ketchum's partner, Pikachu lived as a lonely wild Pichu in a forest. His life changed when he met a wild Kangaskhan and her child, who welcomed the young Pichu into their horde.
Pichu formed a deep emotional bond with his adoptive Kangaskhan family, spending his early life nurtured by their care. One night, overwhelmed with gratitude and memories of his time with the horde, Pichu departed from the family and evolved into Pikachu.
Surprised and delighted by his new form, he set off on his own journey across the region. Eventually, Pikachu was taken in by Professor Oak and brought to his laboratory in Pallet Town. When ten-year-old Ash Ketchum woke up late on the day he was to receive his starter Pokémon—finding Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle already claimed—Professor Oak presented him with a stubborn Pikachu inside a Poké Ball marked with a lightning bolt, igniting their historic partnership.

Evoluzione
Pikachu's life began in the wild as a Pichu before evolving into Pikachu through strong emotional bonds with his adoptive Kangaskhan family. Although a standard Pikachu can evolve into Raichu (or Alolan Raichu) when exposed to a Thunder Stone, Ash's Pikachu famously refuses to evolve. Following severe battle defeats against Lt. Surge's Raichu and Sho's Raichu, Pikachu resolved to prove that he could overcome stronger evolved opponents in his base form, a philosophy he maintained throughout his entire battle career.
Over the generations, Pikachu's physical representation evolved visually from a stocky, rounded Gen I aesthetic into a leaner, more agile design. The character has also taken on unique form variations across media: from 'Cosplay Pikachu' variants in Generation VI to a giant, throwback chubby form when achieving his Gigantamax transformation in Generation VIII. In Generation IX, Pikachu gained access to Terastallization, including a special Lightning Tera Type form featured in 'Mightiest Mark' Tera Raid battles.

From dedicated video game hardware releases like Pokémon Yellow and Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! to decades of toy and merchandise lines, Pikachu collectibles command continuous high demand across global markets.
In the realm of physical collectibles, Pikachu cards remain high-value grails within the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG). Recent expansions, such as the specialized illustration rares introduced during the Scarlet & Violet TCG blocks, continue to drive collector enthusiasm. Whether in video game event distributions like the 'Mightiest Mark' Tera Raid events or high-end physical statues and trading cards, Pikachu merchandise remains the primary cornerstone of Pokémon collecting.
