JADE WISP
The Jade Wisp is a specialized alien species from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise composed entirely of Hyper-go-on energy. Characterized by its jade-colored body, eyeless head, and jack-o-lantern mouth, it grants Sonic and other characters the Jade Ghost power to hover and pass through solid geometry.
Cronologia
Biografia
Jade Wisps are peaceful, social, and energetic alien creatures composed entirely of Hyper-go-on energy, which serves as their life source.
Floating with fairy-like movements, these halcyon beings are pure of heart and naturally get along with everyone except those harboring malicious intent.
Although they are not traditional combatants, they are brave and quick to assist their friends in times of need. When phasing into organic beings or robots, Jade Wisps grant their target the power of the Jade Ghost. In narrative media, an individual female Jade Wisp (nicknamed "Jade" by Sonic) plays a pivotal role in seeking help from Sonic and Tails after escaping Dr. Eggman's Sweet Mountain base, leading the heroes to rescue her captured fellow Wisps.
Storia
As part of the Wisp species powered by Hyper-go-on, Jade Wisps were captured by Dr. Eggman during his construction of an interstellar amusement park.
Imprisoned inside a base on Sweet Mountain guarded by Metal Sonic, a group of vigilante Wisps staged a rescue to free Jade.
During the escape, Jade used her abilities on Cubot to make him incorporeal and drop Wisp Capsules, but Metal Sonic cornered the group. A Blue Wisp sacrificed himself by turning into a giant cube to hold back Metal Sonic, allowing Jade to escape and seek out Sonic and Tails.

Evoluzione
The Jade Wisp holds a distinct place in Sonic history as the first Wisp to debut in a comic book tie-in and racing spin-off (Team Sonic Racing in 2019) prior to appearing in a main platforming title.
It was retroactively integrated into the original Wisp incident through Sonic Colors: Ultimate (2021). Beyond serving as a gameplay power-up for intangibility, the character evolved narrative depth in Sonic Colors: Rise of the Wisps, becoming one of the few Wisps with an established individual persona and gender.
Da Collezione
Following its formal introduction in Team Sonic Racing and Sonic Colors: Ultimate, the Jade Wisp's distinct design—defined by its light jade hue, eyeless head protrusion, and serrated mouth—became integrated into official SEGA brand guides and themed Wisp merchandise lines.
It regularly appears alongside staple Wisps in official plush lines, enamel pin collections, and figure blind-box sets released for the Sonic Colors: Ultimate media campaign.
Curiosità

* The Jade Wisp in Sonic Colors: Rise of the Wisps is one of only five Wisps with a confirmed female gender. * Unlike most Wisps that feature large central eyes, Jade Wisps are completely eyeless with a jack-o-lantern style mouth.
