ETERNAL CLAN
The Eternal Clan (also known as the Eternal Dragon Clan) is one of the foundational dragon species in McFarlane's Dragons, a dark fantasy lore universe and action figure line created by Todd McFarlane. Dwellers of high mountain peaks and cloudscapes, these majestic creatures thrive in thunderstorms and hurricanes. Historically domesticated by early human civilizations, they rarely land on the ground, causing ancient observers to often mistake them for shooting stars.
Cronologia
Biografia
The Eternal Clan represents a majestic aloft lineage of dragonkind within the dark fantasy world of McFarlane's Dragons. Created by Todd McFarlane and produced by McFarlane Toys, this faction stands apart from aggressive terrestrial factions such as the Berserker or Komodo clans.
Nesting high in mountain peaks and dwelling among cloudscapes, Eternal Dragons thrive inside turbulent atmospheric conditions, actively frolicking within hurricanes and riding through violent thunderstorms.
In the ancient lore of early human history, members of the Eternal Clan interacted directly with early human civilizations and were even domesticated by them. Because they rarely chose to land voluntarily upon the ground, ancient observers frequently mistook their rare descents through the sky for shooting stars. Today, the Eternal Clan remains a flagship faction in the universe, embodying the ethereal majesty and atmospheric power of dragonkind.
Storia
The origins of the Eternal Clan reach back to the ancient world, when dragons were the Earth's first dominant species. Under the supreme rule of King Draako, dragon society flourished, establishing an organized civilization complete with complex spoken languages and rune-writing.
During this golden age, the Eternal Clan carved out their domain high above the terrestrial lands, nesting in distant mountain peaks.
This era of dragon supremacy was brought to a catastrophic end by a great cataclysm that shattered the kingdom, claiming the life of King Draako and causing the dragon prince to vanish without a trace. Following the disaster, surviving dragons retreated to the hidden corners of the world, allowing humanity to rise to power. The Eternal Clan withdrew into the clouds and upper atmospheric skies, remaining distant from human civilization except for rare historical domestications and encounters.

Evoluzione
The Eternal Clan has undergone significant evolution across both its fictional lore and physical collectible line. Debuting in 2005 as part of the launch roster for McFarlane's Dragons, the clan was established as one of six original dragon lineages designed to tell the story of King Draako's fallen kingdom through pack-in chapter booklets.
Throughout classic figure waves like Quest for the Lost King (2006) and The Fall of the Dragon Kingdom (2007), the Eternal Clan evolved from elusive cloud beasts into key figures in human-dragon conflicts and diplomacy. Following a 14-year hiatus after the classic line ended, the Eternal Clan was chosen in 2022 to spearhead the revival of McFarlane's Dragons as Series 8. The product format evolved from 6-inch clamshell action figures into massive 13.5-inch statue sculpts with multi-piece interlocking assembly. By 2023, the brand expanded further into Web3 digital collectibles on the Polygon blockchain and integrated with licensed dragon lines such as Smaug and the Hungarian Horntail.
