Dormammu is an immortal extra-dimensional energy entity of the Faltine species and the ruler of the Dark Dimension. Created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, he stands as the arch-nemesis of Doctor Strange and Earth's Sorcerer Supreme. Controlling destructive armies of Mindless Ones and wielding near-godlike dark magic, his ultimate objective is to conquer and absorb other realms—including Earth-616—into his dark domain.
Cronologia
Biografia

Dormammu is an extra-dimensional energy entity originally belonging to the Faltine species. Alongside his twin sister Umar, he was exiled from their home dimension after gathering physical matter to themselves and causing the destruction of their parent, Sinifer.
Traversing the multiverse, the twins claimed absolute rule over the Dark Dimension by deposing its ruler and driving back the destructive Mindless Ones. Reverting partially to his burning energy state, Dormammu merged his essence with the dark mystical energies of the realm, becoming its god-tyrant and Lord of Chaos.
Throughout centuries, Dormammu has relentlessly sought to expand his domain by conquering outer dimensions, placing him in direct opposition to Earth's Sorcerer Supreme. Across history, he has clashed with ancient sorcerers, Sir Isaac Newton, Yao (the Ancient One), and most notably Doctor Stephen Strange. Whether acting through dark proxies like Baron Mordo and Parker Robbins (The Hood) or launching direct cosmic assaults, Dormammu remains one of the most dangerous existential threats to reality.
Storia

Millions of years ago in the Faltine Dimension, Dormammu and Umar broke tradition by absorbing physical matter into their energy forms. Following the demise of their progenitor Sinifer, they were banished and wandered across dimensions while continuing to amass matter to assume humanoid forms.
Their search led them to the Dark Dimension during a 28,000-year era of peace under King Olnar. In exchange for authority, they offered Olnar knowledge on how to break dimensional barriers and absorb other realms. During a dimensional breach orchestrated by Dormammu, the unstoppable Mindless Ones were unleashed, resulting in King Olnar's death.
Capitalizing on the chaos, Dormammu and Umar repelled and sealed away the beasts, executed the king's advisors, and seized control of the realm. Merging his Faltine core with the mystical nexus of the Dark Dimension, Dormammu took on his flaming head form. Over historical epochs, he engineered world events on Earth—such as utilizing the Great Fire of London in 1666 and corrupting Jack the Ripper in 1888—to weaken the barriers protecting Earth-616.

Evoluzione
Dormammu's trajectory in comic lore represents a continuous escalation from regional dark wizard to reality-threatening entity. Introduced in 1964 by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko as Doctor Strange's fiery ultimate adversary, he initially fit the classic cosmic warlord archetype. Over decades, Marvel writers expanded his scope, placing him on equal footing with abstract beings like Eternity and Asgardian royalty like Odin, showcasing his ability to threaten the broader Earth-616 timeline.
In modern story arcs, Dormammu's strategies evolved from direct dimensional conquest to insidious host possession and proxy control. During the 2000s *Dark Reign* era, he empowered Parker Robbins (The Hood) to seize control of Earth's criminal underworld. Subsequent arcs saw him exploit Chaos Magic via Scarlet Witch, battle Galactus in mystical realms, and expand his infernal family tree in *Strange Academy* through his son, Doyle. Current series like *Sorcerer Supreme* continue to frame him as a relentless threat capable of draining life force across dimensions.
