Cronologia
Biography
Selected by Zordon as one of the original five "teenagers with attitude," Billy Cranston served as the original Blue Mighty Morphin Power Ranger. Valued for his exceptional intelligence and patience, Billy wielded the Triceratops Power Coin, piloted the Triceratops Dinozord, and used the Power Lance in battle.
As the structural brain of the team, he created crucial technological gear, including the wrist-worn Communicators, remote command interfaces, and the flying car known as the RADBUG.
Billy holds a unique distinction as the only original cast member to remain on active Ranger duty across all three seasons of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. In subsequent eras, he transitioned to a non-combat support role during Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers and served as head technical advisor in Power Rangers Zeo. Decades later, as the founder of Cranston Tech, Billy returned to active field duty and mentorship in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always and Power Rangers Cosmic Fury.
Backstory
Growing up in Angel Grove, Billy was close childhood friends with Eugene 'Skull' Skullovich, though their friendship eventually soured into an antagonistic relationship when Skull paired up with Farkas 'Bulk' Bulkmeier to bully him.
During his youth, Billy developed severe ichthyophobia (fear of fish) after being bitten by a fish during a science experiment involving whirlpools.
As a prominent member of Angel Grove High School's science club, Billy was initially portrayed as an insecure intellectual wearing suspenders and speaking almost exclusively in complex technobabble. Despite his social anxieties and physical insecurities, his deep intelligence and moral integrity led Zordon to recruit him as a Power Ranger, launching a life-changing journey of personal growth and self-improvement alongside his loyal teammates.

Evolution
Billy Cranston undergoes one of the most dynamic and celebrated character arcs in Power Rangers history. Initially introduced as a socially awkward, soft-spoken high school intellectual wearing suspenders and struggling with low confidence, Billy heavily relied on his friends to protect him from high school bullies. Over time, he dedicated himself to physical self-improvement, learning martial arts under the guidance of Jason, Tommy, and Trini's Uncle Howard, and systematically overcoming deep personal fears such as his ichthyophobia.
As the team evolved, Billy's vast intellect solidified him as the irreplaceable backbone of the Power Rangers. He stood out as the only original ranger to stay on the active frontline roster across all three Mighty Morphin seasons. When field service became unsustainable due to coin destruction, he seamlessly transitioned into a master advisor and technician during Alien Rangers and Zeo. In modern entries such as Once & Always and Cosmic Fury, Billy's evolution reaches its peak: he operates as the head of Cranston Tech, serving as a battle-tested veteran commander, master engineer, and mentor to a new generation of Rangers across the galaxy.
