Cronologia
Biografia

Bane is one of Batman's most formidable enemies and complex anti-heroes.
Renowned for his combination of brutal physical power and masterclass tactical intelligence, he achieved infamous status in Gotham City by orchestrating a mass breakout at Arkham Asylum to wear Batman down before personally snapping Bruce Wayne's spine over his knee during the Knightfall storyline.
Raised in the grueling environment of Peña Duro prison, Bane honed his mind to genius intellect and his body to biological perfection. After being forced into experiments with the super-steroid Venom, he used his superhuman strength to escape to Gotham City. Over his history, Bane has served as an assassin for Ra's al Ghul's League of Assassins, a noble anti-hero leading the Secret Six, and the absolute dictator of Gotham during the City of Bane storyline.
Storia

Bane's origins lie on the fictional Caribbean island of Santa Prisca inside the brutal walls of Peña Duro prison. Born to serve out the lifelong sentence of his revolutionary father, Sir Edmund Dorrance (also known as King Snake), young Bane grew up in total isolation and imprisonment.
Rather than breaking under the prison's harsh conditions, he spent his youth developing a genius intellect through endless reading and building his physical body to absolute human perfection, all while clinging to his childhood teddy bear, Osito.
In Peña Duro, prison authorities selected Bane as a test subject for an experimental super-steroid called Venom. Though the drug was lethal to previous subjects, Bane survived and gained immense superhuman strength. Using his new powers and brilliant strategy, Bane organized a prison break alongside his loyal cellmates Trogg, Zombie, and Bird, subsequently setting his sights on Gotham City to defeat its legendary defender, Batman.

Evoluzione
Introduced in 1993 as a Venom-fueled juggernaut who accomplished the unbelievable by breaking Batman's back, Bane was originally built as a unique mix of extreme physical force and high-level intellect. Following his defeat in *Knightfall*, writers gradually added depth to his character. Storylines such as *Vengeance of Bane II* featured him kicking his Venom addiction, while arcs like *Tabula Rasa* explored his tragic quest to discover his biological father.
During Gail Simone's run on *Secret Six* in the late 2000s, Bane underwent a notable anti-hero transformation. Completely off Venom, he showed honor, tactical restraint, and a protective paternal nature toward Scandal Savage. In DC's New 52 and Rebirth eras, Bane returned to his role as a dark, calculating mastermind. Tom King's *City of Bane* arc depicted him at his absolute darkest, seizing total control of Gotham City and orchestrating the execution of Alfred Pennyworth. Simultaneously, media adaptations such as the animated *Harley Quinn* series have embraced a hilarious comedic interpretation of the character based on Tom Hardy's theatrical portrayal.
