ANT-MAN
Ant-Man is one of Marvel's foundational superhero identities, originally created by biochemist Dr. Henry 'Hank' Pym following his discovery of subatomic size-altering Pym Particles. The mantle has been adopted by several key figures over the decades, most notably the former convict Scott Lang and S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Eric O'Grady. Utilizing cybernetic helmets and suit technology, Ant-Man can shrink in size while retaining human strength and mentally communicate with insect life across comics, films, and video games.
Cronologia
Biografia

Ant-Man is an iconic Marvel superhero mantle defined by the ability to shrink down to subatomic proportions while retaining normal human strength, density, and communicating with ants. Originally established by brilliant biochemist Dr. Henry 'Hank' Pym, the hero helped found the Avengers alongside his partner Janet van Dyne (The Wasp).
After Pym abandoned the identity to assume other monikers such as Giant-Man, Goliath, and Yellowjacket, the Ant-Man suit and equipment were repurposed by Scott Lang, an ex-convict and electronics engineer who initially stole the suit to save his sick daughter, Cassie.
Scott Lang proved his noble intentions and gained Hank Pym's official blessing, establishing a solid reputation as a core member of the Avengers, Fantastic Four, and founder of Ant-Man Security Solutions. The identity was later used by Eric O'Grady, a low-ranking S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who accidentally stumbled upon a prototype suit and operated as the amoral 'Irredeemable Ant-Man.' Across different eras and alternate dimensions, various others have worn the suit, including 25th-century successor Zayn Asghar.
Storia

The origins of Ant-Man began when scientist Dr. Hank Pym discovered subatomic particles capable of altering physical mass and scale, which he named Pym Particles. Pym built a cybernetic helmet capable of communicating with insect life and debuted as Ant-Man in 1962.
However, Pym's mental instability and burden as a hero led him to frequently change superhero monikers, at one point accidentally creating the sentient robotic villain Ultron before stepping away from the Ant-Man mantle. The suit found new life when Scott Lang broke into Hank Pym's home to steal the gear.
Desperate to save his daughter Cassie, who suffered from a serious heart condition, Lang used the suit to rescue Dr. Erica Sondheim, the only surgeon capable of saving Cassie's life. Upon learning of Lang's heroic motives, Pym permitted him to keep the suit and identity. Years later, S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Eric O'Grady took a prototype Pym suit for personal gain, adding a comedic anti-hero chapter to the mantle's history.

Evoluzione
The Ant-Man persona evolved significantly over six decades, transforming from a 1960s sci-fi concept into a multi-generational legacy in Marvel lore. Dr. Hank Pym introduced the mantle in 1962's Tales to Astonish as a cold-war era scientific marvel, but his internal struggles led him to abandon the suit for larger identities like Giant-Man and Yellowjacket.
This transition paved the way for Scott Lang in 1979, who grounded Ant-Man as a relatable, everyday hero driven by fatherly devotion rather than scientific ego. In the mid-2000s, writer Robert Kirkman introduced Eric O'Grady as the 'Irredeemable Ant-Man,' subverting traditional hero tropes with an amoral protagonist using Pym tech for comedic personal gain. The Marvel Cinematic Universe further reshaped the hero through Paul Rudd's portrayal of Scott Lang, establishing Ant-Man as a pivotal, Quantum Realm-traversing Avenger. By the 2020s, the mantle expanded into futuristic territory with 25th-century hero Zayn Asghar, celebrating a sixty-year evolutionary arc.
