Rise of the Snake Men

The "Rise of the Snake Men" appearance captures the critical storyline from the 2002–2004 Mike Young Productions animated series, specifically the Season 2 episode "Second Skin." In this moment, King Hiss utilizes the ancient Serpent Ring to turn Eternia's defenders into reptilian slaves, transforming Captain Teela into "Snake Teela." In the Masters of the Universe Origins Wave 11 minicomic "Rise of the Snake-Men!" written by Joshua Sky, the conflict escalates as Snake Armor He-Man is poisoned by King Hiss during an ambush by Rattlor and Kobra Khan, prompting the Green Goddess to intervene and send the heroic warriors to seek help from Bolt-Man.

Teela's involvement in the Snake Men saga serves as a bridge across four decades of Masters of the Universe history. In the original 1982 toyline, Teela's figure included removable cobra armor that shared molds with the green-skinned Green Goddess from early minicomics like He-Man and the Power Sword. The 200X transformation into Snake Teela recontextualized this iconic look into narrative lore, cementing Teela's dual thematic connection between Castle Grayskull's avian guardian traditions and Eternia's ancient serpent deities—a storyline expanded further in DC Comics runs and Masters of the Universe: Revolution.

The design of Snake Teela reimagines her classic Eternian Guard attire with a sinister reptilian aesthetic. She features dark emerald scaly skin, reptilian slitted eyes, and metallic green snake-themed body armor. The silhouette retains her signature boots and tiara styling, but integrates flared cobra crests and scaled armor plates that echo the vintage 1982 Green Goddess accessories while reflecting her subjugation under King Hiss' magic.
