The Mego Frankenstein (Bare‑chested variant) is an 8-inch retro-style action figure released in 2019 as part of Mego Corporation's Wave 6 Horror Series. Capturing Frankenstein's Monster immediately following his reanimation in Victor Frankenstein's laboratory, this figure depicts the creature without his iconic suit jacket, showcasing his stitched flesh, crude sutures, and color-mismatched limbs.

La Scena

This bare-chested variant captures Frankenstein's Monster during his moment of reanimation inside Victor Frankenstein's laboratory. Rather than depicting the creature in his traditional dark suit jacket and shirt, this version presents him immediately after being assembled on the operating table. Exposed surgical stitches, bloody sutures, and wrist shackles with hanging chains highlight the terrifying aftermath of Victor's laboratory experiment.

Significato

The laboratory creation scene is the central origin moment in Mary Shelley's classic narrative and the Universal Monsters legacy. Depicting the Monster bare-chested highlights the gruesome nature of his creation—a creature stitched together from disparate corpse parts before he acquires his signature dark wardrobe. This variant provides fans with a rare, visceral look at the Monster at the exact second he comes to life.

Design

Standing 8 inches tall on a classic 1:9 scale Mego retro body with 14 points of articulation, the figure features a pale, greenish head sculpt with cranial electrode bolts at the temples and prominent surgical scars. The exposed bare torso displays stitched flesh and bloody sutures, while the limbs are molded in mismatched skin tones to represent different body donors. The creature wears tattered brown/gray fabric trousers and black combat boots, accessorized with removable plastic wrist shackles and chains.

Dietro le Quinte

💡Mego designed the bare-chested figure with mismatched skin tones on its limbs to emphasize that the body parts originated from different corpses.
💡Unlike traditional depictions in a full suit, this variant presents Frankenstein's Monster as he appears immediately after reanimation in the lab.
💡The figure features removable plastic wrist shackles and chains capturing the creature's restraint during his creation.
